Check out to see how the P900's entertainment capabilities may compare with those of the Treo 600...
What's your verdict?

Well, I personally feel that it's an absolutely terrific phone and the one that comes closest to being a 'mini-computer' as opposed to simply a very sophisticated mobile phone.
The overall versatility of the Palm platform combined with the functionalities of the Treo make it an excellent choice. However, Palm have thus far made such a lousy job at marketing it that if it wasn't that I had used one I would probably think that the phone is pretty boring.
Nothing could be further from the truth - the Treo is great.

Er..the Treo has low res screen and no BT. Now a smartphone without Bt is not very useful - how can you use the PDA functions while using the phone?!? I use Bt all the time and I can use the PDA functions to make notes etc while I am on a call when using my P900.

I monkeyed about with a Treo and while it is a very good device, i dont think its quite as good as the p900, which imo is simply terrific.

Fully agree that lack of BT + low screen res are big minuses on the Treo 600... but... the Treo 610 coming out in a couple of months time will have both BT and a new 320x320 screen...
How would you compare the P900 with the new Treo 610? |

Well, to be fair, the comparison should then be the p910 with the treo 610... to which all we can do is speculate...
I am sure there are better entertainment devices than both of them to be fair though...

I hope by the term "BJ", you are referring to blujacking...! otherwise, as far as I am aware, no mobile phone has the ability to act as a vacuum natively ! heheh

LLLOLLL!
'been laughing so hard 'forgot what my first question was all about...
Playing around with the P900 earlier today... great screen for sure...
However, overall still feels more like a phone with some PDA functionality while the Treo is more of a PDA with a phone... make sense?
Yes, Palm needs to work a couple of things out on the phone side - make it a little lighter, lose the antenna++
Right now my money is on the Treo but there's 4 or 5 other 'multimedia' or 'mini-computer' phones coming out by the end of the year and I'm curious to see what these will be like.

i find the treo screen to be worse than the nokia so called 4096 displays. The phone is too bulky the screen to small and its over priced considering its spec is faulted it comes not close to out beloved p900 and p800 for that matter
i disagree with the guy saying its the best compromise between computer and phone the XDA is much better flawed by crap battery though. |
