MMS Messaging question? |

Just a simple question. Are all UK network compatible with MMS messaging? Why I ask this, well a mate of mine sent me a MMS message on his phone a Sharp GX-30 and he is on the Vodaphone. I am on T-Mobile with a SE P900. Now I could receive his MMS but I could not send one to him but he did get the text underneath the picture. Does this mean the MMS was received correctly but his handset was unable to read the format of my picture?
Any ideas?

Its a universal format if I am not mistaken, so the phones compress all images down to a certain size anyway. Mms has always been a touch ang go thing with the networks only recently making it X network. I would say try it again and if it doesnt work then give the network a ring. |

did you get a message back from tmobile saying that the receiver can not except mms messages. if you did then he probably doesnt have mms messages active on his account. if you didnt his phone settings must be wrong, i would guess. |

I got no messege from T-Mobile. I sent one image a max res and one a low res. All he got from me was my text messege underneath the picture.

Send your mms to urself to verify that its ok.
Incase its ok, then the 2 networks in ur country r not 100% compatible yet. Call helpdesk or check website for network compatibility.
For instance Orange NL can send mms to a couple of networks, except Telfort (O2 ?)

Certain networks have file size limits imposed, and certain handsets, are unable to handle the phsyical size of some photos, and also the file size of some photo's. Being the GX30 is a megapixel camera, this could be something of the problem your having.
By default, the P900 takes quite large pictures, and I'm meaning in the file size manor. So, if you took a picture, and it was 30k+, your friend on Vodafone would not recieve the photograph as Vodafone have a 30k limit on their MMS.
Although, to my understanding, just today, have vodafone finally upgraded their MMSC to handle bigger files, but don't hold your breath, don't be suprised if a 30k limit is still imposed at your friends end. Try re-sending him an image, with the medium quality, and the medium size settings (320x240). You'll have to take a new photo and send that one to test it. |

And ask your friend to verify whether he has correct settings
