Can anyone tell me when this beauty (MPx 300) is gonna be available publically.
I managed to find that a beta version of this smartphone is available in Abu Dubai for US$ 1200.
I called Motorola US, customer service; the lady said... it will be avaible soon but we dont know when and the price will be more than US$ 500 .. I kinda laughed at her response... coz I was about to say DUH!!

Some slightly disappointing news about the Motorola MPx, the upcoming super-phone with the nifty two-way flip. We already had heard the MPx will be using the Texas Instruments OMAP CPU (200 MHz), but will have a relatively scant 32MB of RAM, along with 64MB of flash ROM. But as was pointed out by PocketPCThoughts forum poster JonnoB, "It is important to note that the memory configuration is unlike any other PPC to-date. The 32MB RAM and 64MB of storage area is fixed and does not use a sliding scale of RAM for storage/program memory. This is in effect, like a device with 96MB of shared program/storage memory."

it looks like the earpiece and the mic will be in the same place when its open in landscape mode. So, if you receive a call while the phone is open in landscape mode, how would you answer it?

Isn't that bengalboy's fiancee holding the MPX300?

I really wish they found a better design solution to the hinges.

I can't really say much atm till I have a unit in my hands. But it looks good. The keyboard will be changed through before the release so that's another good thing.

Maybe that is what motorola is banking on-- hinges that bust right AFTER the 2-yr warranty is up! People retain their smart phones longer than their standard phones.
