I am curious if for you k700i users of this service (yamigo) the polling time is the same: 13 minutes approximatively. If so, does anyone know how to change this to a more "instant" value?
Thanks.

I can confirm that most of the SonyEricsson's phones are polling every 12 minutes or so. (Unfortunatelly for most of the users this is a loong time). Nokia is polling every 3-4 minutes, Motorola every 30 secs. Also please notices that there is a trade off that one has to make when deciding to pay more for higher poll rate or less for lower poll rate, this in the end affecting the "REAL IM" perception of the service.
We cannot cope with this at server end unfortunatelly.
Cheers,

Arez, your statement contradicts what Bogdano is saying. How can you explain this? Can you please make a test? Login into yahoo messenger with another username / pass which you had already made a contact for your usual yahoo adress, and try giving your mobile account a message from the computer. I am showing an exactly 12 minutes delay. It may be less only if the message happens to be posted exactly before the polling takes place.

We disabled on purpose the MSN support on K700i as the phone crashes unexpectedly when receiving the double "@" address. We try to find a work around for K700. Soon though.
Chat rooms are not yet enabled at Yamigo.

I can connect on my K700i with contract O2 but not on my wife's Nokia 6230 on O2 pay and go. Does anyone know if O2 pay and go block the port yamigo needs, and if so, is there a work around?
Thanks.

Its definately not 12 min on my k700i. I'm talking to my pal and the minute he sends me an im through AIM i get it 10-15 sec later. The only problem i have is saving contacts.
Adding contact : ****@aim.net
Error when adding this contact. Contact list does not exist. |

the delay is a bit more while sending from msn, but once the connection is up and running, it is pretty fast.
but, imo its best when u are using it to chat to another person using my friends.
its a whole lot easier to send/receive im ' s rather than sms/mms.
