Give T610 Java MIDP 2 Support (irc/msn/bluetooth/etc...) |

The idea has crossed my mind. I have posted somewhere (maybe even here ) a while ago that it does seem like doesn't put much effort into JAVA in order to promote mophun as the primary platform. It seems that JAVA capability was put on the phone not as a tool, but as a means to attract more buyers. After all, who would buy a phone without JAVA nowdays?

Its sad that SE didnīt think of JAVA? The Java in T610 are very bad! Very.. The mophun conspiricy theory seems to be right.. |

When I originally posted this thread (over 2 months ago) it got practically no attention at all. I guess back then, most people didn't yet realize the JAVA limitations of T610 and how it would affect them. Now, when I look at this petition (set up by Pleber), and the ammount of posts in this thread lately, I see that a lot of people have involved themselves. Maybe it won't make any difference, maybe it will, but keep it up and lets hope for the best

This little issue is holding me back from buying a T610 (I'm currently stuck with my old T65. It's a good piece of hardware though ). I signed the petition and e-mailed Sony Ericsson. This is the reply I got:
"Dear Consumer,
Thank you for contacting Sony Ericsson Customer Care Center.
We are well aware of the insterest of socket support for T610 . However we do
not have any information about upcomming softwares but we hope that socket
(midp2) support will be added.
Best regards,
/David
Sony Ericsson Customer Care Center"
I sent an e-mail in Swedish as well, and in the reply they said that they were well aware of the petition.
Well, this looks quite promising, doesn't it? I actually passed up the chance to buy a Nokia 7650 for $150 to get a T610 with socket support |

I think its a conspiracy. SE has a deal with Synergix that only offer a poor java in T610 to make people choose Mophun instead!

This makes sense, But does mophun do apps aswell as games?
Seems to me like JAVA is more about Apps than games |
