Hello guys, Im pinoy, workin' here in Saudi and just discovered the esato website this morning and the topic here is very interesting bcoz I like SE T68 phone too but I'm waiting the SE T68i to be available here in Saudi. My Q is how do you know the software version of the phone? |

The latest SW now is R2B. Still without MMS, picture phonebook etc. According to SE press released MMS SW for T68 will be release on Week 16. For this moment, just wait and see if this true. I hope! |

I read here from the esato posters that the new software release is R1A and comes first release of T68i? In my understanding the R2B is a patch/upgrade for the T68/T68m. My question is how do I know the SW version? I mean it came from the manual or it written in cellphone itself or I'll know it when it connected to the computer?

one question.....
are all future firmwar upgrades from smartnet will be "free" even if it is beyond the warranty period?
do not count the things you don't have, you'll ran out of numbers. |

i doubt anyone would give free upgrades beyond the warranty period. i think Smartnet charges a fee for the phones without warranty. but there are some news that the MMS upgrade would be available "free of charge". not sure though if this means free IF under warranty.

i believe that any service point will charge you for upgrades if your phone is not under warranty anymore.
check these jurassic posts regarding software upgrading...

In my experience, Smartnet has always been reasonable in charging fees for services. They upgraded & repaired my previous phones (Mot 6188 and ER T28) for free even if they are bought abroad.
However they charge, I am sure it will be more reasonable than Semicon which will outright slap you with Php1650 for non warranty units. |

Question naman, oh. I'm thinking of buying this non-warrantied 3-month old T39m for my sis. If ever, will Ericsson/Smartnet/Semicon accept it for firmware upgrades? If they will, around how much will it cost. I just wanna make sure that I won't be wasting my money. |
