I think the button on the right hand side of the phone is for accessing WAP from standby mode. I read that either in a review or in another thread - I can't remember which. [addsig]

I am sure the features of this phone will be great, after all it is a Sony Ericsson. However, about the design....it looks so CHUNKY. When will they figure out that anything with rounded edges looks better in the palm of your hand?

Hey, i went to the ITshow 2003 in Singapore on Sunday evening and tested out the T610 there..Awesome phone..and those of you in doubt, the T610 has a handstring hole at the back bottom of the phone. How do i know that?? ...Cos as i was playing with it , i switched the phone off and took the back cover out, and the handstring strap fell off. I took the back cover off, then the battery to check if it was a prototype model, and look at the software/firmware version. Strange, cos there were what looked like 2 different versions..R1 -something- & R2A. The people also told me that the for the final retail version would be more stable than that of the PROTOTYPE, when i unsuccessfully tried discovering the P800 which was also displayed there. Only on the 3rd attempt did it work.

..So i hope i've been of help to u...I've actually posted on this somewhere ard here...but can't seem to find it..

EDIT: ..The handstring is at the same place the p800 handstring hole is at.

I was also at the IT show in Singapore playing with the unit. The speed of the menu is already faster then R6A of the T68i. The SMS speed however is about the same speed as the T68i with R6A. However, the unit was suppose to be a prototype and probably had a old software. Read in Mobile Review that the production model will have a much improved OS. So heres to hoping that the SMS speed will improve.

The finishing of the unit was great. The battery cover though seems very weak. And yes there is a tie holder on the battery holder at the bottom back corner.

Another point is also that the screen and the front chassis is flush. Think this is a very bad design and might result in the screen being scratched easily.

Sound if defintely louder then the T68i. Forgot to try out if the sms tone can be changed. Screen is better then the T68i but looks a little dim to me. It's brighter then the T68i but no match for the P800/7650 or any of the samsung tft screen. Seems like the reception was also better then the T68i as it was on full bar while my T68i was one short.

The mic also seems to pick out less ambient noise in a very noisy environment. Not sure about your T68i but my unit picks up ambient noise too easily.

Have u noticed 1 thing? Numbers in menu lists r gone compared to t68i. No more menu navigation with keypad??
Look at "multimedia" menu:

U can navigate with the keypad, it doesnt display the numbers though so u have to memorize them ...
