Problem solved.
Setup is all in Swedish until this:
I understand nothing, so I have always hit the black button which took me to next screen to register the phone in My Sony account.
Now I clicked on some text in the lower half and a new screen appeared where I could finish the setup.
No notication in the status bar and I don´t have to disable the system app.

this page is about registering your xperia.
Register your Xperia to receive product-related information. Tips and advice for getting the most out of your device; campaigns exclusive to product owners. Register your product. If you have already registered your product, please tap "Skip" to proceed.
what you tapped was probably the SKIP at the bottom left of the screen.
Glad you got it sorted.

Yes the camera app takes a bit of getting used to. I haven't figured it all out yet about manual photography but first impression is they got there balance right between simplicity and shhotin with more complex set up.
Congrats. I too think the design is very solid. Also, coming from the X m5, I do notice the extra weight, with it being well over 200g now, with the case.
I had a play around with the camera interface yesterday and I have to say its definitely an improvement.

Can any of you guys confirm that the screen is the same as 1m7? I ordered two protectors and they sent me ones for the 1m5, so I have had to send them back for replacements.

I have Spigen AlignMaster that I bought for 1 VI and it fits perfect with 1 VII and 1 VIII.

Thanks guys. They asked me if I wanted 1m6 or 1m7 to replace them, as both have different glass.
I think I'm going to replace the ring on the official case with a proper wrist strap. The ring is too small for my thumb and it's fiddly to take it off. I must have fat thumbs.

let's see you guys flex your photography skills with your new camera
Can someone try 4K recording to see if it overheats or limits the recording time?

I would do some today but I'm holed up at home - it's too hot to go outside as we're in the middle of a heatwave here in the UK.
However, I'll be working tomorrow down by the sea, so it'll be a lot cooler and there'll be good subject matter.

sounds like a perfect photo opportunity then!
Funny how people were afraid to have the world cup in the US because of the heat and right now, Europe is a lot hotter than it is here. haha

It's pretty bad with worse to come in the next few days. All kinds of records have been broken, especially in France and Spain.
Yes, I'll be down by the beach.
