70-135mm utilizing same ultrawide sensor. Suspect they will optimize crop zoom and hope quality will be very good!

I just hope those price increases are not accurate.
I'm a huge sony fan but pushing $1500 USD is asking a lot when I can grab a TCL NXTPAPER daily driver phone for ~$200 unlocked.
Of course the camera won't be as good. Alternatively, pixel 10 pro XL is less than half the rumored price.
definitely a hard pill to swallow.

It would have to be something truly wonderful for that price. Top notch audio credentials and the camera should be out of this world.
Then again, the 1 vii is still always an option.
So the announcement is at 2am UK time.

That sure is a radical departure from the usual vertical camera lens bump.
Lets hope the internals are similarly radical otherwise it would be hard to upgrade to when coming from the 1 vi or even the 1 v. We'll have to wait and see what significant upgrades their are to justify the rumoured huge price increase.

The answer will probably be AI. More AI to justify the price increase. Also the fact that ram and chips are so expensive now because of AI.
Perfect storm for them to raise prices. I really hope they made big upgrades though..stuff that would justify the changes to the design language. Guess we'll find out in 5 days.

Did you notice from the teaser image that the "ring," the lens at the bottom, is brighter than the others? Could this indicate that this particular camera will be a new development? |

Let's hope they don't remove the optical zoom: it was a unique gem.

Rumor 70-135mm. Hope they still uses it. Then hope it goes 70-170 or more |

There are also rumors about the removal of the variable zoom module to introduce, like on Chinese cameras, a fixed lens with a telephoto magnification factor. I sincerely hope not.

Let's hope it is something to brag about.
"When brilliance comes full circle"
Could this mean that the next phone will have a feature that it had previously? Like, years ago? Like an active shutter?

I don't think the bottom lens is brighter. at least it doesn't look that way to me.
"full circle" is definitely a play on words but at the moment, I can't think of what it could be referring to.
Perhaps a hint that they are returning to their roots somehow?

We'll find out on Monday! Surely, after the update to the main module, the wide camera last year, now it's the zoom module's turn.
