Finally. 
Android 16 is out for Japan only version of XQ-FS44. Also October security paches.
The update was 1.3 GB.
For 1 VI was the A16 update less than 1 GB.

how's the phone treating you guys? any issues or complaints?

The international version received the build with the October patches this morning, number 71.1.A.2.75, weighing over 600 MB. Android 16 was released for us 31 days ago with version 71.1.A.2.68. If I remember correctly, it was about 1 GB or something. You evidently received the latest build directly, skipping the first.

Build number 71.1.A.2.75 it is for me too.
My experience is that the battery in 1 VI lasted longer than it does in 1 VII with the same usage pattern. Need to charge it more often.

Updated to the new firmware 71.1.A.2.192 last night and it breaks the DSDS Toggle, so connections to NR 5G bands are not possible at least on US networks...back to LTE for now...
This has been confirmed for the 1 viii as well for whoever is getting one to bring to the US.
