Around the glass, the colour is different.
Maybe there is a plastic betwenn frame and glass to make them meet easier.

don't have mine yet. based on the pic in the link, that is where the adhesive strip goes to attach the glass back to the metal frame. could be due to stress of putting in your pocket or heat and making the glass back peel away from the frame, causing adhesion to suffer and show up as "bubbles" under those areas.
on another note... 1ii teardown:

haha WOW! what a change! i guess all those delay emails were sent prematurely? GREAT NEWS! CONGRATS!
Hi moogoo!
Oh no! That's what got it sorted. The Line supervisor followed up and found that the company that is Sony's partner was not working to good standards, then that companies phones and even email services crashed!
I had emails from the line supervisor with apologies!
Very happy with my Xperia 1ii and only issue is getting the notification sound to work on LINE Mesenger!

Congratulations and enjoy!
Hope you will be posting your thoughts frequently if possible!

"I knew there was something special about the photos from the main camera on the Xperia the moment I saw them on the screen, but checking them out later on a big, professional screen left me quite speechless. The quality of these images is just not something you see on a smartphone. The fidelity of colors, the crisp but never artificially boosted detail, the good dynamic range, all of that comes together in a magical way creating images, and if you go places with people -- memories. That one is up to you, though."

I said something similar before with far fewer words when I gave my brief opinion about its color accuracy.
This is truly something I haven't seen before in any phone I have used.
Most people unfortunately prefer more saturated photos, as it looks more "aesthetically pleasing" to their eyes.

not unleashed until RAW and a dedicated night mode similar to other OEMs are added.

Night mode of 10ii seems to be sprt of longer shutter + DRO.
You can do same with 1 ii.

Can anyone confirm if there is now a night mode, as mentioned by Phonearena.
So many people are asking for it in youtube.
For the record, this is the first time, I have read a balanced Sony review from Phonearena.
Thank you. |

Shino - there is no "night mode" as in there is no actual mode you can select and allows you to snap the shutter and it's done. There is a DRO mode, which works similar to some "night modes" out there, which Hawk mentioned. DRO mode will take several photos at different exposures and merge them. It's much like HDR mode, but a bit different algorithm.
The phone arena review was decent, but the things he complained about were very subjective and also due to his lack of knowledge. Side sense can be fully customized with positioning and sensitivity, which can improve its responsiveness. he didn't mention doing any of that though, so it's doubtful he even knew it exists. He also complained about brightness of the screen, which is a purposeful calibration by Sony to ensure color reproduction. Again, no mention of that. He complained about the speakers not being loud enough, but no mention of whether he used Dolby enhancement or the quality of the sound being produced.
Overall it was a good review. But his list of very subjective, minor cons made the review seem negative, if all you looked at was that list of pros and cons.
The more reviews I read/watch from people, the more it aggravates me when the reviewer is misinformed or simply too lazy to do a full deep dive into the features of the phone. It's like they simply use it for a day, try out some of the major features, and that's it. A true review should be after using it for a week or longer, while diving into all the settings and using all the major apps/features advertised to try out every setting and configuration possible.

No ...
I think it is when the moon icon shows up.
I have seen that on Photo Pro, if you leave all on auto it can recognize night scene and slow down shutter.
HDR is imaging stacking.
DRO makes shadows brighter.
Here, some photos that do DRO vs HDR
