How high is the chance of a new Compact coming from Sony next year?
My Xz1 compact is giving in and i am almost forced to buy a 5 mark II soon. And i have to get it before the pre order bonus ends. But i dont want that big of a phone.
Now that Apple has shown the 12 mini i am hoping the android manufactures follows. Sony especially. |

Considering it is more of a tool than phone.
I suppose Sony may try to sell only for companies like TV channels etc ...

It's a US only device that Sony will push to broadcasting industry. They probably saw some demand for something like that so they pulled the trigger. |

Also, photographer freelancers photographers that want to use as monitor for alpha.
Yes, surely Sony was in touch with professionals before creating this phone.
But I thought it would reach market by August/september .... |

No way they can use decent selfie unless they increase bezel or put it behind the oled.
No space enough for same cam used by xz2p.
I think they should do: 1/1.4" wide, 1/2.3" ultra wide and real zoom periscope 70-100mm (1/2.3").

I post something similar periodically. Usually there are vague rumours, but nothing happens. At the moment, not even rumours (as far as I am aware). Apple may mean that some manufacturers try something similar, but who knows. I'm vaguely thinking about replacing my Z5 Compact with an iPhone 12 Mini, but it's more than I usually spend on a phone, so an iPhone SE is another possibility. Guess I'll try to hang on until early next year and see what happens. |

Just orderd a 5 mark II. I got two weeks of testing before I decide and maybe return it. Everywhere i've seen youtubers and such all are wowed by the 5 II. "its so small" "really compact" "nice in hand" "extremely comfartable". I think almost everyone parises this phone. But me, coming from a XZ1 compact, will likely yell hole shit thats a big phone when I unbox it. Excited but sad at the same time.... |

It's not a small device by any means, it's as tall as iPhone 11 Pro Max. It might be compact when compared to Note 20 or S20 Ultra. My biggest gripe with 5er is very little distinction in size compared to 1. They should have went with 6" screen and width of 65mm for greater differentiation. When you have 1II next to 5 there is no substantial difference in size. 1II got smaller compared to 1 but 5II did not compared to 5. |

I came from the XZ1 compact too , had also the XZ3 for 2 month but gave it too my brother, that one was too big for me ... but funny the 5II is also the same length but does not feel as big as the XZ3 and is comfortable to hold as they write. I just can't find a nice cover for it. |
