That's a little bit confusing for me. Is it still G Lens then or it's a brand new lenses.

If I am not wrong, few of Zeiss branded E-mount are Sony. Colaboration of both.
Leica does quality controls of lenses Huawei buys from a chonese company. |

Because it is a huge paradox.
At sony website there is a pool asking what's more important on a phone: battery, IQ, screen size or phone colour.

Personally I don't care, as long as it is mid-range-ish or better. Certainly 4k screen would seem pointless, I'm not a big fan of 21:9 screens, but whatever. A decent if not absolutely top-spec camera system. Enough battery to last a day of non-intensive use. Support for a few Android updates. A headphone socket and good quality audio would be really nice. And make it small ! I don't want to spend anywhere near a four-figure sum. I need something to replace a Z5 Compact.

Phone Arena
Maybe phonearena misunderstood the meaning? Sony ard Zeiss have already been working together decades. They both responsible for all the design stuffs.
Actually, this Sony-Zeiss lens only features the T* coating. So, I guess the structure is from sony and add T* coating. Not the Zeiss Vario-Tessar structure. Still, better then Nokia and Huawei. |

The lens produced by supplier but collaborated by Zeiss.
So they can claim that they use Zeiss lens, it's reasonable.
Real Zeiss lens are glass, but it can't be afford by smartphone.
So they actually use plastic lens but it collaborated by Zeiss, it can still called Zeiss lens
HMD did the same way, Zeiss even just give it a certified without any collaboration.
Phonearena didn't know it

It's the same as the Zeiss lenses like in the RX100 and the Fe55. They're Sony built to Zeiss design/spec. Zeiss do make some of their own E mount too, like the 85mm 1.8.

Considering what Leica is, if Huawei lenses were Leica, they would cost more than the rest of the phone.
LOL ...
Dont understand why people buy Leica.
Same price other charge for a Medium Format.
Too overpriced gear. |

Not really, the 10 is a lot bigger than the old Compact series. Whether there's enough demand to make it worthwhile to produce something sized in the ballpark of a modernised Compact or (old) iPhone SE, I don't know (and now we can have a slightly bigger screen in the same overall space), but I'm one of those who would like such a thing. The rumour was there, so I was wondering if there was any more recent information about this proposed "new Compact".

Gen 6
No special dram like imx 445, its own ADC can cover true 960 fps

Thanks.
Considering mobile cmos have faster readout than full frame, dram may not be necessary anymore.
Hope SD875 can push far enough to allow more MP while keeping same speed.
@tony .... Is this about 1 II or 1 III ? Is Xperia 0 just an urban legend?
