moogoo - I'll be looking at how big the jump is in specs but if, ultimately, the flagship looks like any of the renders then yeah, I'll be tempted to.

@goldenface - YES! do it. i'm looking to upgrade too and hoping this year's flagship is what I'm looking for. I have always said I'd get a pixel if not a sony, but pixel's hardware woes with the pixel 4 have me worried about that choice.
really hoping sony announce something really tempting. i'm sure it will be a big jump for me from my XZP and quite frankly, i need to upgrade as my XZP, while it works great for the most part, does not get great LTE signal and loses wifi connection for no reason whatsoever. Probably due to my dropping it too much but hey it's been almost 3 years.. so it's about that time anyway.

1. Are you the one who did that comparison with s10+ samples right beside those s20 ultra shots?
2. Have you seen the real world situation there so that you can judge the phone right by those samples?
3. The details are pretty good there, even in 100x. It's normal that the shot is full of noise but those aren't even blurry. That's impressive and looking at those samples only made me think that the phone is truly great at producing good images.
4. Samsung's Colour science has changed this year, they're going for a more natural approach, just like how we like it. Z Flip, note 10, and s10 still oversaturate pictures.

No, I am not. No need to get defensive since you pre-ordered one lmao, but I do work in the industry where I get access to all new phones, and frankly Samsung cameras have been disappointing for a while now. I don't need to compare IRL to see shots in the link I posted are not what I would expect from a $2000 CAD phone.
Anyways, no more Samsung posts in Xperia thread. Looking forward to new flagships, my XZ2 Premium is getting on, and I am looking to upgrade to a new 4K flagship. |

Yes. These are codes of main phone of 2020.
Those other codes like PM12, PM13, ..... indicate four devices.
One of them L4.

I highly doubt it, mobile section has been completely removed from Sony Canada website. I have been importing my Xperias since original Z anyway, and didn't have to use warranty once. Mostly imported them from UK, but XZ2P I decided to buy from Taiwan, since they bundled SBH90C with pre-orders. Hopefully there will be a good bundle for Xperia 1 successor on clove.co.uk, wouldn't mind a free wh-1000xm3 |

If you know something but don't want to share in full detail, then why bother at all?
If you're under NDA, I understand a little more but then really you shouldn't be saying anything at all if that was the case, so I'm gonna assume you haven't signed a NDA.

Who says I said that and become defensive because I've preordered one? I've been saying that since last year, samsung phones are getting better in camera. You haven't even stated what makes this year's s20 has a camera that's disappointing. That makes me and possibly other people reading your comment confused.
It's the camera that's getting better that led me to switch. Not that I'm switching to samsung and I should make myself feel better about the camera because I bought one.
The only criticisms about s20 ultra is not in the camera, but in other areas. I don't want to discuss it here since it isn't a Samsung thread at all.

Alvin, I do appreciate hints.
But most of hints this time seems impossible to solve, and look pretty self-satisfactory ones that ONLY YOU CAN ENJOY .
Meaning, you created those hints so that no one can solve, and I don't think this is a nice thing to do.
For example, IVANW
Please imagine if someone else gives you this hint.
Even if you somehow come up with right answer, there is no way to be confident about it.
So yes, we do want hints but only something reasonably hard.
If you do not want people to know something, that's fine. But if that's the case, I hope you rather not give hint.
I hope this won't discourage you from doing this in future.
