Dolby is good on Axon 7.
Not much on Samsung and Lenovo Vibe series.
To use it they have to pay.
Sony chooses to use own solutions instead.. |

They said that the only requirements were that the music should be multichannel in the MPEG-HD 3D format, from that point on, sound processing is completely software-based and does not require any special hardware.
According to the media that went to the CES, Sony made measurements to scan the ear, then they could start to enjoy the effect in the most optimal way.
It was mentioned that Sony is preparing an application for smartphones, more details are unknown.
Speculating we would say that most likely the application will be distributed in the Play Store, such as Sony Headphones App.

Axon 7 uses AK4490 Hi-Fi DAC.
Even with default Android libs/effects it will sound good.
Sony should adopt the same solution as HTC with U11/U11+ by placing the DAC+AMP on the USB-C to 3.5mm adapter.
This could be even "so so"... I'm sure it will sound a lot better than the crap inside the box of latest flagships.

I know a7 has the best DAC.

Someone posted on weibo that 5G version is 1- 1.5 mm thicker than 4G version because it has 20% battery.
That would be near to 4000 x 3300

I hope not:
1- They should retain the 3.5mm plug.
2- USB-C should use standard USB-C Audio. In case one wanted to use standard Type-C headphone.
3- They could provide an optional USB-C to 3.5mm adapter with more higher-end DAC & AMP for those of us wants higher quality.

Not a flagship render:
-not even laser AF - no cam button - the bottom part similar to XA3 renders (probably plastic back)
It looks awesome though. The color, bezels quite good but the display image looks fake. So either an upper midrange or just an indie concept. |

About the imx586....
At 48 of course it wont look good.
But if you scale to 12, it may be better than many phones...
That is why ppl are kinda unfair to Sony...
If you use the gsmarena tool and scale to 8 or 12, even older xperia can beat newer phones..
Choose XZs x Xs Max at 8MP, you guys will be very surprised..
The imx586 is 1/2".
Gossips say Sony would use a 1/1.8" with paired with imx379 (monochrome version of 380. Used for Premium) |
