Wish they would post source - links to sony's resources site. Coz their screenshots are always shitty quality...

As for the rest, for now we only know the name - screen size is temporary, Android version as well is only for test unit (which probably bases on XA2 or something).

Still, Sony may keep 18:9 with Plus - XA and Ultra will stay 16:9. Maybe same for future Premiums? XZ and Compact with 18:9 display, but "bigger" (how big this time?) device with "only" 16:9?

I agree.

The 18:9 would make Ultra too tall. It is hard to trim the bezels because of the huge front camera.
Many phones use 1/2.55" as rear while Ultra has 1/2.6" as front. OIS makes even bigger.
I believe they can do it but not like Xz3 size.

Hope they add waterproofing at least. Stereo is welcome too.

Well lets hope the naming scheme isn't as retarded as it currently is.

I like the current names.

Bonus : someone from China posted on weibo a screenshot of Dxo score of many phones that are not included yet. It says OP6T (99), Nex (100), Xr (100), Xs (104), Xz2 Premium ( 105), Mate 20 (107), Pixel 3 (107) and Mate 20 Pro (116)... Let's wait to see if it matches when reviews are out.

I saw on Androidheadlines...

I think my screen is not well. Can not type 3, E, D and Z without activate screen rotation.
XZ2p is probably last LCD/RGB screen. Mobile oled are all Pentile. Including Xz3.
I need a phone soon, but I do not want Xz2.. 😢

2019 roadmap including new naming scheme - my idea/imagination/dreams:

CES:
Xperia A10 - 5.2", SD6xx, 4/64
Xperia A10 Plus - 6", SD6xx, 4/64, dual selfie
(Yes, XA series successors. "Plus" not "Ultra" - 6" is not ultra these days. And no more L series.)

MWC:
Xperia X10 - 5.7" OLED, SD8xx, 6/128, dual cam
Xperia X10 Premium - 6.4" 4K OLED, SD8xx, 8/256, tripple cam
X10 Compact - 5",SD8xx, 6/128
(Yes - Xperia X10 was first Sony Ericsson's Android phone shown in 2009 - so you can call it "the anniversary series".)

IFA:
None. I see no single benefit of announcing phones at IFA. They're always half a year late and price of many competitors dropped a lot.

I tried to be realistic but X10 Premium is impossible in 2019 I think.

Nah buddy, X1 was a Windows Mobile device.

The Xperia X10 AKA Rachel was the first Xperia Android. I owned one shortly after release, best looking Android at the time.

haha.. oh the memories. i still have mine. i had such high hopes for timescape with those flowing tiles. sadly, it could never be optimized to be usable in the way sony intended and they scrapped the whole tile idea.

Any words on the dual selfie?
Curious to know if it is 13+8, 13+13 or 16+8.

Haha, dude, so true. I will never forget how horribly laggy Timescape was, yet in the same breath, I loved Mediascape.

What gets me is that Sony Ericsson was so far ahead of their time with the thinking behind that UI, but they implemented it far too early, the hardware was just not ready for it yet. They had the right idea at the wrong time.

Remember how the Xperia X10 brought many features from Android 2.0 to Android 1.6? Good times. Fantastic device, I gave mine away to someone who needed a phone back in 2011.

^yea the X10 was way ahead of its time. they added features that google only added in later additions of android. its functionality was beyond any other android at the time. but being sony's first attempt at android, they didn't do a great job optimizing the software and it was laggy. However, it was an example of sony ericsson's drive for innovation and use experience.

i was so amazed at the facial recognition feature that would find all the pics of a particular person and have it linked to their contact profile. it was ahead of its time. google has only recently added that to the photos app.

i hope sony falls back into the mind set of innovation they had back then. these days it's all been about catch up with a few nice features thrown in there from the camera department but otherwise I feel like they've really taken their foot off the pedal on trying to push the limits.

I remember the days when their slogan was "like no other" and that really made me proud to be a sony owner cause it really was true.
