Looks like Sony is on fire
With that amount of camera on board, the cameras will probably exceed both display and Soc in terms of manufafturing costs |

if this thing is real, i can't even imagine what the cost will be...
looking at probably $1200 MSRP unless they decide to downgrade other features like screen, speakers, etc to focus on camera ability. and by screen downgrade i mean just QHD instead of 4K.. or LED instead of OLED.
Sony might as well go big and try something crazy. everyone else is innovating.. sony needs to do something innovative as well. 21:9 screens don't really count in my opinion.

I appreciate that it could be great but the Pixel 3 does amazing things with a single lens so clearly the software needs improvement more than the sensors. |

It certainly seems the Alpha team have helped make a big first step forward with Xperia 1. For the first effort at collaboration there's been some big gains, and it should hopefully continue to improve. If they finally do get the best hardware and software working together at last it could be something special |

Premium Smartphone shipment Q1 2019 ...
Sony made #5 in Latin America (despite they have left) and #4 in Pacific Coast Asia (not counting China).

A lil detour away from Xperia rumors, but there is a leak on WF-1000x M3 and it looks reaaaaaaally good. Hi Res support, 6Hrs batt life per charge with fast charging support, coming IFA.
Now I'm tempted to abandon my first gen buds. |

The first was never ideal and the fact this pair is the mark 3, makes me believe a mark 2 was in the works but abandoned. The mark 3 seem like a nice improvement, BT 5, better battery life, new DAC and improved NC plus the design feels much more upscale.

1 does not seem to have always on HDR, quad Bayer should help with that. And aube was a groundbreaking tech merging signals in real time, it'd have been a shame if they abandoned it.
I wish they could do variable aperture at every step between 1.2 and 2.4 |

Welcome back!
Looks like fun times for Xperia phones ahead of us. I just hope they can finally get things under control to the point where they begin expanding to more regions that they've left. If I have to order my next Xperia from over seas I'll it, but I'd love to be able to pick one up here in Canada
Still really hoping that Sony Mobile and PlayStation get a little synergy going so that we can get some proper [hysical controls either on a new phone (successor to the Xperia Play) or on a shell that can attach to a phone. With 5G and game streaming aiming to become very popular, I'm excited to see what control options there will be. |

Well, Q1 sales of premium smartphones had Sony as #5 in Latin America (xZ3, XZ2P are not available) and #4 in Pacific Asia (excluding China). That is a beggining.
While ago Amazon UK and Germany ran out of 1.

Don't you think that's because they have a pretty limited stock, not because so many people bought the phone?
