3840x1660 will make it even worse.

Almost 40% less pixels than XZ2P.
Pixel density probably not much different of xz3.
Not even counting the pentile issue.

Games are 16:9, black bars can be used to show the virtual controls.

Does it have something called EYE ID?
What's the loop shaped thing aroung xa3 speakers? Is it a flap for hdmi connection?

Lower pixel density yes. That's what I'm saying. Last year there were talks about how 4k Oled was not going to be ready until the end of this year.

With current tech maybe 3840 pixels were producing too large of a panel hence the 167mm. So by cutting it short they still have a 4k but with less pixels and without waiting. Maybe.

I wouldn't put too much into the loop shape. It could be something like that butt notch on the xz3.

If Sony is going all out with 21:9 ratio it makes more sense to wait for a 4K panel to come through, why hype this new screen then take it away from 4K users? That reason alone makes me write off the next Premium.

The S10E in yellow reminds me of my old Z1 Compact in yellow, probably my favourite phone of all time. I miss the LED in the well hidden speakers (I don't like the oval design on the newer phones). I'm very concerned about the XZ4 Compact after seeing the XA3 as well as the renders, I don't know what to expect.

According to the CAD specs, the new Compact would be as tall as xa2.
Japan is actually the only country more ppl still want a small phone.
Iphone 8 is the best seller.

Still wonder why, havent seen any advantage of iOS over android.
I cant even use Opera on my iPad, there is only Opera Mini.

XZ1 is popular too. Favorite Xperia there.

Tony ... The person on weibo ( avatar was blond dog) said weeks ago about Premium screen calibrated by CalMaN and delta pretty close to 0. Has the cat mentioned any of this?

XJ, I'm a bit confused here.

Let's call next flagship "XZ4" announced at MWC2019 for convenience.

You said this XZ4 will be launched at the end of Q2.

1st question: does "launch" means "announced"? If so, no flagship at MWC?
2nd question: does XZ4 support 5G or not?

My understanding is this -
It'll be announced at MWC with the 4G version arriving within 3-4 weeks and the 5G version by the end of Q2.
I'm so happy 'cause today

Thanks for explanation.

I read an article somewhere that 5G phone require special structure that 4G phone doesn't need. And because of this, 4G/5G models are hard to keep the same look.

So maybe 5G version of XZ4 will be different model equivalent to XZ4 premium?

I'm not a good decoder at all (tony is the witness) but I think this one is straight forward.
2019 xperia has three kind of screen resolution:

2520×1080
3360×1440
5040×2160

Where do we apply to be nobodies who play with the upcoming Xperia? Sounds like a good job.

I don't expect a more premium phone from Sony with bar form this year. The supposed xz4 is 6.5", where will they go from there? 7" 180mm? I don't expect a 2160p 21:9 device this year. And my least likely hunch is xz4 will have 3840x1600 ish resolution. Because I don't think they went with ultra wide just for movies, they did it to overcome Oled limitations.

You should expect More from Xperia, don't lose your faith
