Quite confusing. Some times it feels like edge to edge like XA series and sometimes like curved edges.

It is more like Note8 than XA.
Dual edge increses screen % compared to flat.

Carved corners of the case suggest a curved screen. Imo it looks good, a couple of notches better than the previous one.
Also the case leaks and earlier than usual render leak suggest that this phone will be released rather quickly to the market. Sony's Pie update schedule adds more to this. They usually release a phone before updating prev. gen. |

Curved Screen..... That is the reason why I stay away from Samsung....

I doubt it's curved like the galaxy's. It looks like edge to edge like xa2 series and only the glass is curved. The case is designed as such otherwise it would be hard to use the screen at the left and right edges.
I don't like galaxy's curved displays either. It's irritating and hard to use around the edges. |

The same case for XZ2 doesn't have carvings on the sides.
If this render is real, it looks like the screen is curved. Besides the metal frame is also thin on the sides thick on the other ends just like galaxies.
From the cases it doesn't look like the new one is significantly thinner just maybe 1-1.5mm. |

Looks like the XZ3 back is less curved and flattens out, seems a lot thinner but that is because the flat back. Really not keen on curved screens, the most likely thing to break if you drop it, I see so many people on the train with cracked Samsung corners. Flat and recessed like the Z5 is the best so you can put it faced down, my XZ1C screen sides are heavily scuffed. |

Bezels could be smaller, but if they still have the front facing speakers it wouldn't be so bad tbh. Looks better than the Pixel 3 XL at the very least.
Also better have a goddamn headphone jack.

if the case is anything to judge by, there is no headphone jack... sadly.
i will miss the headphone jack too if it doesn't make a comeback. i use a wired headset often for phone calls cause bluetooth headsets for phone conversations seem to be unreliable or poor sound quality. perhaps it's cause i'm not spending a ton of money on a high quality bt headset, but why should i have to? I just want to plug a cheap headset in and get on my way.
if the renders are real, it looks too much like a galaxy from the front. sure, there's only so much you can do to the front of smartphones these days to differentiate them, but i dunno.. it just screams galaxy to me and i would think it was a galaxy if i didn't know better.
looks like i'm definitely gonna need to wait for MWC2019 for something that will tempt me to upgrade.

Funny stuff from SONY staff again... He said this SONY Xperia s9... oops I mean this so called XZ3 finish at the same time with XZ2. That's why it has the single camera.
Now I'm wondering why does it has to be a separated model as I can't see much different from XZ2 except the design.
