An edge to edge tablet would be a bad design, you need something to hold on to.

5g is the new technology. All have to advance. If not, people will again comment on Sony being slow and never catch up to technology.

Seems to be bezeless, but there is Sony logo, which wouldn't be there in a real (near)bezeless tablet.
It is Tablet Z with a little magic added, nicely done, but I would remove SONY logo so it would look more real, but than there would be no indication that it's Sony's device...

XB published that KDDI gets Premium only in August.
International release must be close.
Because japanese carriers get phones too late.

Fear not, samples has already begin delivery to press and reviewers,....The launch day are near...

SoMC working hard for delivery the XZ2P on point, and this mark the first time an Premium device sells in Japan beside nuro mobile (Sony-owned) and NTT Docomo.

And 5G, they are coming, just as we expected...

spek and others with insider info - would you recommend waiting for IFA announcements (XZ3?) or get XZ2P once it's released? I really want to try a 4K display, as previous generations I always went with the non-premium version. My XZ is due for an upgrade, and XZ2P looks really good.

i hope you're right , otherwise it's wont be a good idea releasing the phone 2 weeks before ifa.

do you know if we will see dxomark review?

i guess 5g comes with sd855, so we can say there is a high chance we will see a sony phone with sd855 before end of the year...

XZ2 and XZ2c will be sold here officially.
Z3c was the only compact here before.

I cant believe XZ2 here will be cheaper than Z5, Z5p, XZ, XZp and XZ1.
I was expecting almost same price of Z5P ( most expensive Xperia so far).

Z5 was 4300
Z5p was 4800
XZ was 4000
XZp was 4000
XZ1 was 4000

3800 for XZ2 and 3300 for XZ2c. Price of XZ2c is just 10% more than Z3+ was.
XZ2 is still more than $1000, but I feel 😱.

AFAIK you can buy sim-locked device and use them for a while. Then you could buy an unlock code to make it sim-free. And XZ2P nuromobile variant will come with the ability to unlock bootloader, unlike other Japanese variant. But it also come with some of the limitation of Japanese variant Xperia: different software build (and normally it will receive updates very late versus global variants) with Japanese limitations (camera shutter sound always on, NFC/Felica,...), different network band combination, no warranty,...
