That would be heartbreaking to read after splashing out £500+ from a company that makes cameras. Guess I won't be buying from them until they change the sensor on their high end phones.

Yep.
I think everyone should stay away from the wide lens on Sony, until they put a new lens on it, because Im sure the imx400 is actually a great sensor.

You mean your XZ has less distortion than XZ1 right ?

If you mean that then yes. My XZ also has less distortion.

XZ and XZ1 use difference lens. At the corner of picture taken by XZ1 has more detail than XZ but the XZ1 has more crazy distortion.

Anyway... this is extremely tragic.

I mean your phone is faulty IMO.
No signs of distortion here for instance:

Does anyone with XZ1 face issues when playing HDR content from YouTube or Netflix?
When i´m trying to play a HDR video from YouTube for example i can´t find that in the resolution option list, it only says 1080 60p.
I don´t know is XZ1 is certified for HDR on YouTube like the XZ Premium is.
But even on Netflix were XZ1 is HDR certified i don´t get the disired expanded color and contrast, i did a comparisson with my new XZ1 and my old XZ with the same video (HDR on XZ1) and regular HD on XZ and the video looked the same in terms of color and contrast. I don´t know if my brand new XZ1 have issues/faluty or what else can be going on.
I should be able to tell a difference between XZ1 and XZ but i don´t for some odd reason!

Fair score for XZ1, IMO. I also saw the camera comparison of flagships. XZ1 is really bad at low light. At daylight it's comparable to other flagships. Although it still has the tendency of classic sony - overexposing and mussing details - it's still very comparable to other flagships at daytime. When it shines it leaves behind every other flagships like nothing.

Hopefully next sony flagship has better image processing and bigger pixel with bigger apetures. Computational photography is the future of mobile as shown by Pixel phone. Sony should also heavily invest in computational photography. Traditional method wouldn't be competitive anymore.

Again the same story.

The Auto mode doesn't work best.
But reviewers still "test" the cameras like it's 2007.
