To be honest I've fallen out with Instagram, I rarely put anything on it mainly because of a few privacy issues, probably since Facebook bought them.

I wish Samsung had kept the camera 16mp the same as the Note 4, since now all images are in 4:3 format unless you downsize your camera settings to 9mp.

Although the XZ1 Compact is faster the app reload is great on the Note 8, advantage of having the 6GB RAM but I feel like its still overkill for Android. They should really do some split screen multitasking tests to really push the Note and get all that RAM working.

Camera Head To Head: Samsung Galaxy Note 8 (Image Sensor 1/2.55") Vs Microsoft Lumia 950 XL (Image Sensor 1/2.4")

http://www.allaboutwindowspho[....]ra_head_to_head_Lumia_950_.php

P.S: Verdict!

As usual, adding up the points gives us a feel for how the two phone cameras did:

Microsoft Lumia 950 XL: 97/110 Pts
Samsung Galaxy Note 8: 91/110 Pts

So got my Samsung DeX station and TouchPro Bluetooth keyboard. As some of you know I have been a fan of DeX since day 1 when I saw it on the S8.

I can officially say, it has lived up to expectations, even blown through them. I really wasn't sure how this would work out but I am thoroughly impressed.

This week I'll leave my work laptop at work and do anything I need toon my Note8 with DeX. I mainly work on Google, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn advertising platforms, Samsung browser easily handles this, I then do reports in Excel. Well as we all know Samsung and Microsoft have been getting closer to each other and thus Word, Excel and PowerPoint are fully optimised to work in DeX, so this part is also sorted along with work emails etc...

I also have a set of Samsung Level U Flex Bluetooth headphones coming, this will then help when I get a call while using DeX.

This phone is going above and beyond anything else on the market it's proving to be the ultimate productivity beast, I just cannot get over how far it goed, the fact that I now have a smartphone that converts into a PC when I need it to is incredible.

It has put me in a corner though, as I literally won't be able to take any other smartphone that doesn't do what this does seriously after this. I cant call anything else truly productive.

Keep your Pixels, Huawei's, Xperias, iPhones, OnePluses, LGs etc... They are now useless to me

Amazing how things have turned out, just last year I was watching endless reviews of the HP Elite X3 with Continuum support on its Dock, and thinking to myself how great it would be to have an Android that had the same setup, and boom, got a Note with that setup a year later.

It seems Samsung got this whole modular computing thing pretty well the first time around, in some areas it's better than Microsoft's own Continuum

Here is a nice and comprehensive look at DeX with the Note8, running beautifully
https://youtu.be/hGkbeLos0hY

The 6GB RAM makes a great difference one can truly say they have a computer in their pocket.

LG V30 vs. Note8 Speedtest, the Note8 does to the V30 what it did to the iPhone 8 Plus, by an even larger margin:

Didn't expect such a large gap

Loving this beast

So on top of getting DeX and the BT Keyboard free I also now finally got my preorder gift, the Samsung U Flex LEVEL BT headphones

That's ~$450 worth of free goodies with my Note8, not bad considering what I am paying. That's more freebies than I have ever received with a phone purchase.

Exciting time ahead Samsung taking DeX to new heights
https://www.sammobile.com/201[....]ing-linux-os-linux-galaxy-app/

It's good to just see an OEM focus on pushing the envelope in areas that help us be more productive. Smartphone cameras are great these days, but some of us use our smartphones for more than just taking pictures, my phone's are tools and it's great to see Samsung focus on expanding the tool set of our smartphones.

Thoroughly enjoying DeX so far, I don't have to open up my laptop at home, I just drop my phone in DeX, do everything on my glorious TVs display and use my BT headset to listen to music and take calls. Our phones have more than enough power for this now.

Oh yes! The laptop is definitely more powerful, but I hate lugging it around. My DeX and keyboard are always ready to go, they stay in the TV Room, where I spend most of my time, so if I get a work email and need to check a campaign thoroughly or fix a report, I just pop my phone in DeX and away I go. I have also been using it to watch YouTube videos and Series, so sometimes I am using DeX already for entertainment and I just open a window to do work far more convenient for me.

It's an insane feeling, having everything in this 1 mobile device. I now can leave my work laptop at work, which is great as as a resident of the infamous Johannesburg, "crime capital" of the world, I don't worry about someone breaking into my car to take my work laptop when I go out on Friday nights after work.

Good to see Google and Samsung embracing each other
Samsung adopting Google's ARCore, coming to Galaxy S8 and Note 8

Samsung has partnered with Google to adopt ARCore, Google's augmented reality platform, and it will bring the experience to its Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ and the Galaxy Note 8.

Google announced ARCore earlier this year and it is a rival technology to the already available ARKit on Apple devices. The iPhone 6s and newer iPhones all support the feature and there are already quite a few interesting apps that make use of AI on the iOS platform.

With Samsung joining the Google ARCore camp, developers will now be able to write augmented reality apps for two of the most popular series of Android phones: the Google Pixels and Samsung's Galaxies.

Brilliant
Samsung restates its case as the king of cell phone displays

https://www.androidauthority.[....]ung-display-commercial-810414/

Samsung on the ball. Why didn't the other OEMs take full advantage when the Note7 fiasco happened you never let Samsung getaway when they mark a mistake as they will pounce when you make one.
