just grabbed it too. also, sony apparently responded to the camera distortion issue basically by saying it's cause of the wide angle lens (which is normal even on SLR lenses) and that the distortion seen is approximately the same as on other xperias and other competitors. not sure i believe the "other competitors" part, but as other xperias sounds about right. though i think the XZP's wide field of view is greater than the others, which creates a much more noticeable distortion.
more info on xperiablog.. i'm too lazy to link it. sorry .

To be honest the distortion issues on Xperia since Z5 is not the same as normal distortion of wide angle lens.

If anyone is looking for a minimalist case, I have this one and it feels and looks premium. Took about a week and half to arrive. Very quality, finger prints don't show, it a nice snug premium fit. It doesn't have the flimsy poly feel, its more solid but with a soft spandex touch. Very nice.

So I dropped my phone earlier today and and it was a heart in mouth moment as it fell about 4 feet onto wooden flooring and thankfully not even a scratch but my protective case is a little broken in the bottom corner but that's nothing considering how bad it could've been.

Icrkz - nice case but i hate hiding that beautiful color!
XJ - lucky. mine broke with less impact than that. you should replace that case before it fails when you need it most.

XJ- I know the feeling. I've been there. Glad to hear good news no phone damage and the XZP can take a punch.
Moogoo- yeah, I don't normally sport a case. I'm a person who also loves having these beautiful thin devices and not covering them up with ridiculous bulky ugly cases. I've been sporting naked phones for years and my history post here and XDA will reflect that. However. Lately Ive a hybrid approach, I only use my case in certain environments. Sometimes at work, etc. I certainly use more without but I was happy to find something that if I did use a case it still is sporty, slim, with the premium feel and touch. I believe this accomplished it for me. I'm 70% naked 30% case.. .
I have screen protector on back and front. Skinomi wet application and been perfect for all my Xperia phones dating back to X10. Those pics have the screen protector applied..
My loyalty here dates back to the P900i, k750s, P1s, X1 era... Glad to see community still live.
Edit: oh damn moogoo, I overlooked and just saw you had that hairline scratch. That's crazy. You like many of us baby our phones so I feel ya there. I've been there too,... Once you notice no matter how small, it will annoy the piss out of you simply b/c you know its there. (but no one else would notice, unless you point it out)...
Once you get you SP replaced or a new one, the SP will make it unnoticeable. Sorry to hear bro.

For all you XZP owners, you could change the default resolution from 1080p to 4k through adb. The only problem is that the phone app crashes but it works with other dialers like the pixel one. The icons look stunning in 4k.

tai - indeed. it does very well agianst the oneplus5 but it was a close match. but the fact that oneplus5 costs under $500 gives it the edge. if sony were not around, i'd probably be getting that or a pixel.
icrkz - yea. i need to get a screen protector. pronto. glad it's not super noticeable though. almost seems like it's a scratch under the glass. it's weird and probably impossible for me to take a picture of. i might look into the skinomi though last i checked they only had the TPU screen protectors and not full coverage glass.
milanelo - great find. makes sense that it's capable, just disabled. the fact that it's an option is encouraging that it may become a toggle option under display settings in the future with updates. who knows!

Android Debug Bridge... a command line utility to control android device from your computer through usb cable.

No, just tried the 2160×3840 size with 807 pixel density. I don't see the point of setting it to 2k unless you want a little bit more of battery juice. |
