XJ - i totally agree. just did a side by side with my friend's iphone at 1080p. even he was like WOW.. it looks like it's popping out and so real. the difference is definitely noticeable with true 4K content. the display on the XZP is no joke.

Icrkz0023 - wifi works fine for me too. in fact it's consistently blazing fast. have you tested that same wifi network with other devices to see if it's the router having issues?

Anyone having wifi issues. Intermittently shutting on and off, cycle occurrence span every 2-5mins?

Only tested one wifi connection thus far...
Thanks,

Are you using 5 Ghz network? 5 Ghz is shorter range but higher download and upload speed. Switch to 2+4 Ghz instead, more stable and longer range . Also restart your router first.

Thanks for the responses..

Moogoo, can't put my finger on it, my XZ was fine. Just tested two different Hotspots and it seems to be OK. My home network it's fast but it will drop connection entirely and two seconds later reconnect. None of my other devices does this and I have PS4s, kids iPads, etc. Since it doesn't do it (so far) on the hotspots it has to do something with my home wifi. (that somewhat makes me feel better that it's not phone)... I will keep tinkering around. Otherwise enjoying the phone.

Edit: Tai.. Thanks didn't think about the different frequencies... I will check they out too thxs

^ yea definitely check that you're using the 2.4ghz network and not the 5ghz one. you'll get better range for sure. though if you were fairly close to your router to begin with, it shouldn't matter. if changing the network doesn't work, i'd try restarting the router and checking security settings to make sure for some reason your xzp isn't getting knocked off for some reason.

so, today my roxfit case broke. as you all know, it didn't really fit my phone that well to begin with. but it fit well enough I thought. However, it seems the poor fit put a lot of stress on the corners of the case. my phone slipped off the **** counter top and i caught it. but in doing so, my phone hit against the cabinet side. Not that hard, but it did hit (no damage) and my case broke. the corner pieces snapped right off and the case nearly slid off my phone. it's a real shame. i was really excited for this case and it turned out to be no better than a cheap one off amazon. attempts to contact roxfit about it and returning my screen protector have still not been answered. sigh.

Sony deleted the thread on the official forum about camera distortion issue.

http://sumahoinfo.com/xperia-xz-premium-camera-distortion-issue-thread-on-official-forum-deleted-docomo-so-04j

I personally think this problem is fixable, and even if not, it's still acceptable level of problem.

But intentionally covering up the problem report from users? That's unacceptable!

I love sony but I must say I'm very disappointed with the way they handle things.

@se_dude - are you talking about the Z5 or the XZ Premium? If the latter, I think the speakers are just as loud as any other Xperia I've had, if not louder. The sound is definitely more full and clear vs others. I'm quite happy with it. Sure, it could be a bit louder but quality would probably deteriorate.

Damn. I meant the XZ Premium of course. Been using the Z5 Premium for too long and the subconscious mind clearly doesn't want to give up. Any Easter eggs in the phone I need to look up?

I always enjoy reading this forum but this is the first time posting, because I kind of "overheard" something you may be interested.

The red version of Xperia XZ Premium will be released in limited market. Exact countries are unclear but it will be released at least at Taiwan, HK, and Japan.

The release day will be End of July to Early August.

If anyone is looking for a minimalist case, I have this one and it feels and looks premium. Took about a week and half to arrive. Very quality, finger prints don't show, it a nice snug premium fit. It doesn't have the flimsy poly feel, its more solid but with a soft spandex touch. Very nice.

@maratonmannen - i'm sure that's an OK screen protector, but it is not completely clear so it will hide the color of the bezels and the cutouts for the logo make it look ugly! trust me. that's why i don't like the roxfit screen protector I got.

@irckz0023 - i picked up a clear TPU type case after my roxfit one broke. i like it a lot. it fits perfectly and feels quite sturdy for being a flexible case. best of all, it doesn't hide the colors of the phone.

in other news.. i have found a small hairline scratch on the glass. i don't know how it could have happened considering i am careful not to put my phone in my pocket with keys or coins. though GG5 SHOULD be harder than either of those and shouldn't scratch. it's not an obvious scratch and is only visible at certain angles, but i know it's there and it makes me sad.

also, compared the XZP screen against an iphone and a S7 edge playing the WORLD IN HDR video. vs. the iphone colors and shadows were similar, although XZP definitely had a noticeable edge. it also blew away the iphone in level of detail, which is to be expected. vs. the S7 edge, it was no contest. colors were washed out and contrast was terrible on the S7 edge. it was surprising to me how poorly it looked! conclusion - XZP IS KING

Downloading the June security patch (45.0.A.5.1) to my XZ Premium, normally we get updates fairly late here in the UK so I'm impressed with the sort of speedy release.
