not a great test. he mis-hits the app icons and home/back buttons often, which adds to the time. but a decent video.

my roxfit hard clear case is on the way! sadly, still 2 weeks away from getting my XZP :'(

I was reading that too, one of the negative points was how fiddly the sim card tray is. I'll probably use the sim card tray twice in the phones lifetime, once to put my sim in and the other to take it out. Bit of a pointless observation there if you ask me.

musa - so either he's wrong or others are. is there official word from sony anywhere? i don't remember if there was..

XJ - for sure. that is a silly observation when the vast vast vast majority of users would not use the sim tray more than twice in a phone's life time. sure there may be some who would take it out to swap out the memory card, but if you are having to do that often, maybe you should think about getting a bigger memory card.

Also, the complaint about lack of 4K content is kind of silly. Sony has already said you can watch it on Amazon Prime and Amazon clearly states XZP is fully supported for 4K HDR. There is content there. He just wasn't able to find it. Sure, maybe it should have been easier but having a negative for a feature that's TOO good is silly if you ask me. Especially when 4K HDR content is becoming much more prevalent these days and even more so in the coming year.

BTW - Just ordered a screen protector from roxfit. that and the hard clear case should arrive before mY XZP so i will be READY to have it FULLY protected!! i can't wait. my only concern is how much dust is going to get into the little cracks and crevices, but i'll worry about that later i guess.

It does make me a bit sad that the entire frame of the XZP isn't metal. Having plastic sides when the top and bottom are metal seems like more work than just machining a whole metal frame like they did for the Z1.

The XZ Premium is the only phone in the world capable of streaming YouTube in 4K in native resolution rather than upscalling 1080p vids like the Z5 Premium did so there's more 4K footage there too and I also think it won't be too long before YouTube will support HDR playback either.

Just curious, is any one of you actually going to watch a lot of 4K movies on such a small screen? I thought that to fully enjoy a movie you need a big screen and a nice sound system, I don't see any point in 4K display on mobile.

admad - do i plan on watching A LOT? probably not. SOME? definitely. the great thing about 4K is you can get up close and personal to the screen and still enjoy a great picture and quality, which is why it's great for VR purposes. With some quality headphones, I don't see why i wouldn't be able to enjoy some movies on it. hell, popping it into a google cardboard headset with some headphones and watching a movie would probably be like being at a big screen movie theater.. i may have to try that.

It will be great if Sony make their own version of google cardboard that are fully optimized for the 5.5" 4K Screen on Z5 and XZ Premium so i can get the big screen experience that i can't get from any other phones.

Everyone has been asking the same question since 720P came out . Yes people will do. I always stream YT on 1440P on my S7E. The difference, while minute is still there especially for people who know it. Also, this is only the first 4k screen on a phone...as time goes on these screens will improve further making it more enjoyable of 4k.

Have anyone read xperiablog's news about 2 new flagship? As much as I really want the XZ Premium, highly tempted with this. Time to contemplate if I shall wait...

MNX - sony says flagship, but that doesn't mean they will be better than XZP. they might be different in some way but they won't have 4K HDR because that would take away from XZP's main selling features. They might have 2K. They won't have a new camera because that would also take away from the essentially brand new motion eye they just released on XZs and XZP. what's left? Maybe it will use OLED. maybe it will have a new design. I am thinking they will release 2 new flagships at different form factors. a compact flagship and a specialized one somehow. But, while they may be different from XZP.. i don't think they would announce and release something that would so quickly overshadow their so called PREMIUM model. at least, I certainly hope they aren't that insane.
