Speakers like Z5 maybe.
Another way to organize inner parts could help to deliver a smaller size.

As i guess
i think it is more like XZ, and trim a bit the corner to look and feel rounder
also because of IMX400, it still have a bit camera bump(I really hope to see OIS, but this is Sony, mostly not)
will use ALKALEIDO metal just like XZ and XZs and new internal design just like XZP

Still have 53datys 17hours to go

Well I know this is old news but just to stir up some conversation,

((Multiple Rumors State That Sony’s Own-Developed SoC Could Deliver Performance That Is Equivalent to That of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820, if Not Greater))

http://wccftech.com/sony-flagship-running-own-soc-ifa-2017/

Would you guyz prefer it over qualcomm Socs?I'm not really sure myself as SD835 is really good. The thing is Sony is the king of optimizations so the phone could be a monster seeing how XZS destroys some SD835 competitions

I think if Sony decides to have own cpu, should start with a simple phone.
Maybe built a XE ( " E6".) and have a cpu better than sd430.
Lets suppose there is a XZ1 Ultra. And this would be powered by Sony's cpu.

A) If it is weaker than 835, tech sites will bash
B) if it is better than 835/836, it will outperform its siblings.

Own cpu, sailfish OS to run inside X...
Maybe it is a sign.. Who knows....

I do not know other OEMs, but Sony seems to be very frustated/upset about the Z3/Nougat story.
Many Xperia fans all around say Z3 was the best Xperia ever.
Sony was really going to update the device.

Good point Lumberjack.but I'm hoping they spent the two years ironing out the problems with SOC so they have a top notch SOC. I understand that I'm hoping too much though.BTW I would be happy with higher than SD820 performance with super cool running and efficient cores plus a top notch ISP.overall the rumour seems made up.

Sony says X is dead. No more super mid range.
But you still find about X1 ( Qualcomm 660)
And that would cost about 500-600.

XZs will be cheaper than, nobody would buy X1..
Or even a XZ for less than 350,00 dollars.

Hope the compact is not thick this time...

I think X1 wont be here, as there will be only Flagship Models(XZ series) and Mid Range Model(XA series or L series)

and Compact not thick mean of less battery, and not last so long

4.6" HD + 835 + 2500 would be enough to spend a day without issues.
Gossips say 2800.

If it has the body of Xc, it is about 9mm. Too much.
I believe it probably has 8MP front can instead of 13MP, just like Xc. To save some space.

You cannot squeeze flagship components in a compact body without increasing another dimension.

This exciting news. Sony has another type of battery tech that suppresses even their Li-on Polymer battery. The new battery is super durable and stable. The new type of battery is called Olivine-type Li-ion Iron Phosphate.
It uses super durable solid crystalline structure as the cathode material and it does not release oxygen when the ambient temperature rises, which is especially safe. They announced this tech back in 2009. LOL. I think it's about time they put this type of battery in their next flagship.

Another benefits are -

1. Batteries can hold 80% of the initial charge after the charge / discharge cycle of up to 2,000 times

2. Durable, so safe, but this type of battery Sony can also reach extremely fast charging time. You will only take 30 minutes to fully charge up to 99% - half the time compared to conventional Li-ion batteries that use Cobalt as a cathode material.

yeah, most probably. But I bet that we'll see something really revolutionary in the battery department in H2 2018 flagship Sony phone. Afterall they said in 2018 they'll focus on powerful processor, design and battery life. It'll be awesome to have this tech in sony phones. It'll be a big differential factor for Xperia devices.

What I'd like too see in 2018:

- 5.5" 4K STE Oled
- Screen to body = 78%
- FPS under screen
- 4000 mAh
- Qualcomm 845 or a in-house cpu as powerful as 845
- 845's Adreno or best PowerVR
- 4gb is enough
- 64 gb storage
- Dual sim not hybrid
- Acoustic surface
- Gorilla Glass 6
- Plastic frame + metal buttons
- Rear cam : 1/2" 19MP f1.6 2GB dram xenon flash
- Front cam : rear sensor of Pixel, f1.8 + flash led
- 3D facial recognition ( Sony was going to show it in Shangai this year)
- NFC wireless charging

I'd say I'd pay 1100 dollars for this.
But here since Z5 all flagships cost more than this already.
So no problem....

I'm not a fan of wireless charging so I wouldn't be bothered if Sony never included in any future devices. I just want the S-Master digital amp plus 960fps @ 1080p or higher and if the next gen CPU is capable of it 4K @ 60fps.
I'm so happy 'cause today
I've found my friends ...
They're in my head
