No Quanovo charging so battery life will be $hit within 8 months
Can you or someone explain this feature a little bit, please? What kind of brands have this feature? Does XZ Premium has it?

Quanovo is a technology to extend the life of the battery, not as how many hours the phone will be on, but how long the battery will keep it's efficiency after hundreds of charge cycles.. it will adjust the voltage, charging speed and cycles to prolong the battery life.
Basically, If you have two exact phones but one with Quanovo tech. enabled.. the phone without Quanovo will need to replace it's battery sooner.

It charges your phone depending on your usage habits.
It prolongs the phone's battery life, as we all know, batteries become less efficient after 1 - 2 years.

This is what happens every night when I charge my XZ.I normally take my phone of charge at around 8am so it gets the charging times spot on. Time will tell if it'll make a difference to the longevity of the battery but I'm impressed with the tech and can see other brands jumping on the bandwagon soon.

I figured it was used for expanding battery life but I didn't know how it does it.
Thanks guys! |

nahh pretty much in line with expectations, they just worked more on design than hardware and its just that Sony put a pretty damn high technological standard

The XZ Premium is the winner here, shame it won't reflect that way in sales. The XZ Premium for me is already phone of the year and I'm counting down the days till I get mine. 😀

S8 definitely has some nice features but nothing that stands out as WOW, in my opinion. I'm interested to see how bixby actually works in real world use with its hardware integration.
@josephnero - how do you know S8 doesn't have LPDDR4X RAM?
I feel like samsung worked a lot on design and software this time around rather than going for crazy specs. they put their money on the screen real estate and bixby. it will surely pay off for them cause their marketing team will ensure sales go through the roof. the average consumer will look at that screen, see it's size, and say "yes i want that". It's also got HDR so it should be very nice.
XZP for me though, all the way. They didn't even announce the price for the S8 did they? Guess they are waiting to drop that hammer..

@moogoo at carphone here in the UK the smaller S8 is £689.99 sim free but no price on the larger one yet but I'd say it'll be £100 more expensive.

i see.. 689 isn't too bad. less than what was rumored.
strange that samsung wouldn't put better ram in their flagship..
