Sony is heavily advertising new evolved algorithm for the new AR III. It's wishful thinking but I hope they evolve their Xperia algorithm too. Although it's been slowly but surely getting improved |

There is another teaser on Sony Mobile’s Indian facebook page. The previous one mentioned remarkable camera technology and this time the teaser is highlighting the bezels, play of colors and revolutionary design.

This teaser seems to me match the phone josephnero is talking about. But it's only on sony India page so might not be a flagship or not a global phone.

It's definitely not a flagship as you can see the old signature power button on the right hand side of the image.

Hmm, camera tech + the letter R? Well their high end point and shoots are the RX series cameras. Could they be making an RX variant for phones? While I'd love to see that 1" sensor in a phone, I dunno how they'd do it without making the phone considerably thicker. |

Sony's image division is like Sony's last remaining ace apart from playstation. They are almost developing new sensors every month (although not all for the mobile division) which practically gives them the edge in the innovation in mobile imaging but I don't know if their advantage will translate to innovation in the mobile imaging anytime soon.
I hope they realize that Samsung is slowly enhancing their image division. Although new players is good for the consumers, I don't like the fact that Samsung is becoming the old Sony before, monopolizing on every segment of the market. |
