LumberjackX,

I think what AIDA mean by "second camera" is the second camera of main camera, not front one. but i might be wrong

I just used XZ1c selfie as an example. One cam that does 2 different kind of photos.
What I could understand is that the second cam would use 12MP for colorful pics.
Then only 3MP if you want BW pics.

Maybe it is something different.

Biggest bullshit leak ever. At least try to be convincing.

So we have dual camera setup with THREE SENSOR on the back - one imx 400, one 12 mp (rgb) and one 3 mp(mon).

It would make sense if they dual setup is 12+3 but no it's three sensor with dual camera setup. LOLOLOL >.<

@hboy857

Read again, he's say two cameras, the main one is the IMX400 (19MP, Wideangle)
The second camera uses a hybrid sensor, my guess if it's true then it's a simple 12MP RGB sensor, but within it there's other B/W pixels distributed in the sensor in total for 3MP you can say that with every R + G + B pixels there, there's a one B&W pixels also.. meaning it's like a 16MP RGBW sensor, I don't know why they call it hybrid in the first place, maybe you can access either the RGB or W pixels independently.

I've never had a phone with dual camera setup so I would appreciate some clarifications. Are both cameras used simultaneously when taking a single photo (with each camera adding to the quality of the picture) or the cameras are used separately and you choose which camera to use each time you take a photo?

@ambivalent

2nd cam we find on Samsung, Apple and LG does not work along with the main.
One to make object closer, another to make it further..

I am not sure if is Huawei setup that works this way.
The BW can be used alone, but main cam not.
The software combines both to provide better colors and improve low light shots.

But honestly, I have seen many pics/videos made by P10/P10+.
Do not even seem better than the old M5 or Z3+.

Miles behind XZ ....

On the good light my XZ1 take better picture than huawei P10.

On the low light it's opposite thought.

BTW Xperia with dual camera is very interesting.

This would be something useful in the real life more than superslow motion and 3D stuff.

It makes zero sense. I search google and didn't find a single thing about "Hybrid" sensor. I think as usual he's making things up with the help from weibo rumor site. It would make sense if the the secondary sensor is just a 12mpx RGBW sensor but 12 MP RGB and 3 MP mono hybrid sensor is just unbelievable. Never heard of it and I didn't read anything so revolutionary either. Sony started talking about IMX400 capabilities in various academic seminar 6-8 months before the actual product release (XZP). If the hybrid sensor is real, We would've already heard about this revolutionary sensor by now. So i'm calling this hypbrid sensor a bullshit rumor. Next year we may see a new improved version of IMX400 with better lens but I'm 90% sure we wouldn't see this hybrid sensor adida is talking about ( atleast his version of hybrid sensor).

Nope. Not going to believe adida is saying.
