i think they both look almost the same. X Compact has a very very slight advantage i think in terms of focus. But otherwise, colors, exposure, detail are almost identical.

Hmm, I feel the X is more sharp in some areas and some colours pop more, maybe that is the post processing by the phone and the compact X has the more accurate colours?

Personally I'd rather use the X for photos.

A good, well rounded review. The finger print sensor and the size make it a joy to use, like the Z5.

It troubles me that IP certification has been omitted though. Sony hallmarks. Just today I was taking underwater selfies in the pool. A lot of fun but practical too.

Is it really no longer IP certified or is Sony just not advertising it as such. Not that I'll be asking you to go jump in the bath with yours XJ ha ha

In the short time I had with the X Compact it was great, one downside and this is just a personal thing, the glossy plastic although feels premium it looks a bit on the cheap side. As far any IP rating goes it could be slash resistant but I'd imagine Sony would have included it in the official launch.

In GSM Arena's photo comparison tool, the Xperia X seem to have a slight edge over the Xperia X Compact.
The Xperia X has more details in its photos compared to the compact one.

USA only ... not North America. There are 3 countries here don't mix them up please.
Z5 series ALL got the fingerprint sensor when shipped to Canada Z5/Z5 Premium via Bell Mobility have it enabled. USA or "America" because the 'god bless america' doesn't sing well with 'god bless the united states of america' (kinda makes you wonder what year that phrase was originally born in and which "america" was it paying homage to ... confederate america before the civil war?

|AppleTV2|iPhone 12Mini 256GB|iPad Pro 256GB| Previously ... K750|Z500|Z520|K700|K790i|K850i, :Ericsson: T18z|T28World|T36m x3|T68m (Ericsson, not the rebranded T68i).

lol @ supafly and not wanting his beloved canada to be lumped in with the states. if we weren't here, russia would have invaded a long time ago (j/k)

yes the fingerprint scanner is only excluded on the US American variants. Most likely due to patent infringement issues, though that isn't the official statement, nor is there one.

considering the song God Bless AMerica was written well after the american civil war, America refers to the entire United States as it existed at the time.
