Having a phone explode is a billion times worse than anything Apple has had issues with. Just imagine if someone's house burns down or it explodes on charge when you're driving God forbid. Sure Samsung will bounce back but its reckless that such a mistake can be made. People will soon realise that its down to a couple of Homer Simpsons doing the QC because no company would take such a risk. |

I also think exploding battery is worse than what Apple had- I actually read a story that a battery of a note 7 exploded in a hotel room and the damages were 1800 AUD! To be fair Samsung has already confirmed they will cover the amount
I also hope Samsung will recover well and soon - I actually want a Note 7 (after I read that the issues are in the past ) |

Huawei and Xiaomi have a better chance of taking advantage of this and being successful than Sony or Htc, both dying brands, Sony don't have a high end phablet, just that 6inch X thingy with some mid end Snapdragon SoC and HTC don't have phablets at all.
Apple may be the only one who will truly benefit.

Galaxy Note 7 will no longer use Samsung SDI batteries, claims report
http://www.zdnet.com/article/[....]g-sdi-batteries-claims-report/
Following reports of Galaxy Note 7 batteries exploding, Samsung has decided that the best way to deal with the problem is to issue a recall. Now a report claims that the defective batteries were manufactured by a Samsung affiliate, called Samsung SDI.
"'As a follow-up of the battery issue, we decided to temporarily stop using Samsung SDI's battery for Galaxy Note 7,' several local media outlets reported on Monday, citing sources from Samsung Electronics," reports the Korean Herald.
cheers!

With new iPhone available from next week I wonder how will this phone sell . Carphone warehouse is still saying only available on the 21 of October which is incredible for a phone announced on the 2nd of August. Samsung should discount the price |

It will sure not sell the amount the expected but ones the hype is down the sales will pick up and iPhone would be much of a threat to it.

Any idea how Samsung is going to deal with the Aviation ban? I can see airlines continuing the ban even after all the N7's are replaced..cant blame them since there is no way to confirm if the N7 has been replaced right?

Well the Note 7 was banned on my flight, they made a big deal over it on American Airlines but you can understand why. Recently a 6 year old had another Samsung device explore in hand but the news here are running away with it since they're pro-Apple. Lots of supposed experts commenting on the news, one idiot was saying that its as frightening as ISIS because you never know when it'll explode. Then again, I am in Trump country. |

If they continue the ban SAMSUNG will really need to consider re-launching it as Note 8 with some visual tweaks!!

It's seems to be getting worse for Samsung as it looks like other devices seem to be effected with exploding batteries too.

Talk about generalization, seems like isolated incidents not related in anyway to what happened to Note 7 |

I never said it was related to the Note 7 fiasco but every time a Samsung device goes bang it's now going to make the news regardless of the model and unfortunately for Samsung have their name dragged through the dirt even more.
In regards to your post about it getting a "light ban" on the New York train system I wonder if other transport firm will follow such as the London Underground or even cross county rail service which here in the UK at least have charging points for phones/tablets/laptops.
I hope Samsung recover with the Note 7 as the Note series is the only Samsung I'd ever consider buying.
