^ Didn't u read about the rumour that they're using some sort of liquid cooling technology?

liquid cooling? Probably you're going to get one of this to liquid cool your Z5 (Water not included in retail-box)

This is honestly the best feature of the Xperia Z-series. If other smartphones overheat you can't do shit, but with an Xperia Zx you can just rinse it under a tap to cool it off. No problem.

And then it stops working completely because the waterproofing is no good.

That's my opinion, I had a Z2 that got a bit wet and it broke, I think the waterproofing is a useless gimmick.

The waterproofing on my Z3 tablet is still intact. I was only reading in the bath with it just last night and I sometimes use the front cam as a shaving mirror ha ha.

my Z1's waterproof is still going strong. it is not a gimmick. but you do have to ensure that the seals are in tact. waterproofing something is only as good as its seals. in this case, at least for the Z1, the seals are located around each of the flaps in the form of a rubber O-ring and also in the form of rubberized adhesive strips that connect the glass panels to the plastic and metal frames. if your flaps are not sealed properly or you have gaps due to the adhesive giving way, then your waterproofing is compromised.

simple as that.

looking forward to seeing what Z5 has to offer, though I am planning to wait until MWC before potentially upgrading..

You should be pouring water on their iphones first. The look on their faces would be even more priceless, guaranteed.

Also the waterproofing is a gimmick, unless you live in tsunami-prone environments (and Sony's profound failure in the mobile market outside of Japan is the living example of that). At the same time Iphone is the absolute sales leader in Japan, raping sony left right and sideways on their home turf, which really adds insult to injury.

Also, there are multiple reports of water damage on new sony devices, right out of the box, and with sony denying all and any warranties when water damage is suspected (and suspected is the key word ), which is really pathetic (well, not really, here in Canada, Sony has always been a bunch of lying scumbags known for replacing your hard drive... without replacing your hard drive...)

@JohnnyNr.5 Thanks for the timings

5PM is exactly when I finish work, it will be either in work if I stayed a little late, or in stop signals the way home

@Ebato

Come and live here in the summer, you will sweat like hell... and if you work outside.. hell even your pants/clothes will suffer from it... in my old days of feature phones, the Sony Ericsson port kept getting moulds from all of this, even the gold plated contacts... not to mention the ear speaker & mic holes...

It just started now to cool of a little bit, temps. now are like 40~42 C now, humidity is 70%~80%

Thanks god I work inside in AC'ed office

At work I need a waterproof phone but I guess I could put an iPhone in a plastic bag instead. For your information, it is a well known fact that the day Sony Pictures gets rid of Adam Sandler, they will see profits increase by 1,000,000% opening the doors for the purchase of Apple, Samsung and Microsoft.

So a Z5 Compact is under 5", obviously a small Z5 which will be around 5.2" so a Z5+ will be how much bigger? I don't see the point if it is 5.7" because it wouldn't be that much of an increase. They would have to add another feature to make it stand out or make the screen 6". What about the Bond phone, is it special or will it just have 007 written on the box?

Also, I saw some really nice watch concepts earlier in the year so any news on wearables? IFA will have a strong showing from a lot on manufacturers so I hope that Sony does something with their flexible e-ink display. It would be nice to have NFC, no flap micro USB and allow me to wear it around my neck like a stopwatch with a long strap. I saw a lady wearing an iWatch around her neck on a long gold chain, its a good idea for one handed use if you get what I mean.
