@hihihans. A truly great day it was

Btw, I had my first attempt at fashion photography. I had to crop the image as there were so many people blocking the object

Last saturday, I just had this workshop with the most prominent pro photographer (he shoots celebrities, and high class fashion shows) in my country.

Lol, well let's just be real here, he is the Xperia Z3 brand ambassador why would he say anything positive about the competitor products? He is paid to promote the Xperia handsets over the competitors.

Anyway, that workshop sounds truly fantastic, wonder if we have any down here, would be worth a go, minus a brand ambassador of course.

@Faisal2215
Any new points (guidelines) from that photographer during the workshop for taking good photos?
Thanks for sharing.

@petermu. Forgive me, but I don't remember much except for the low light shots and high fashion photography.

For low light shots, he gave an advice to use night scene & firework mode on manual mode and also to have a tripod with you. He also said that firework mode tends to have lower ISO and slower shutter speed compared to night scene mode. Well from my experience using night scene mode, the ISO varies from 50-250 and the shutter speed varies from 1/4s - 0.8s. I haven't got any experience with the firework mode, but i'll try soon enough

High fashion shots: he said that there are no rules, it fully depends on your creativity. It depends on how you manage the model (composition)

Perspective: I think it is about how you create an illusion. (ex: a pic where you kick another person in the head but actually the person is far away from you but is in line with your feet)

Contrast: it is about making one object shine in the area with extreme darkness or extreme light source. During the contrast photography tutorial, he shot a model in a black background and made the model shine (thus the name contrast, I think)

@Tsepz_GP well, apart from he is a brand ambassador, he is the best pro photographer in my country & was the one who give lectures about the 4 photography outlines in the poster.

The part when he said about samsung and iphone cameras was when I interviewed him personally while the other guys went photo hunting. I too have a lot of experience with samsung and iphone cameras and I agree with him about everything he said about the ecosystem and low light performance.

Take samsung cameras for example. Everytime I shot an indoor shot with low ISO of 100, the camera didn't drop the shutter speed so I ended up with pitch black pics. Xperia cameras on the other hand, can shoot indoors with ISO 50 and proper shutter speed and still produced well exposed images with minimal noise & plenty of detail

iphone camera? Lol, there is nothing you can do except turning on & off flash & HDR.

As for the low light shot, Samsung Galaxy S5 is notorious for making below average low light images. Pics have very strong noise reduction that create blotches & blurs the details, washed out colours, and still havse noise despite strong noise reduction.

iphone 6? Good but I don't think it is capable of a low light shot of this caliber

I just recieved z2, and when I was doing the xperia diagnostics, in the vibration tests, I felt the vibrator motor to make a different noise. I am coming from z1, and the vibration in z2, feels very wierd. Is this normal? Can someone maybe upload a video of z2 when its vibrating so that I can compare?
