Z2 comes out in New Zealand in just over one week. We get the noise cancelling headset and charging dock free for pre-orders. Sucks because I already bought the dock in anticipation and was really hoping for free Smartbands. I've nearly imported this phone several times because the wait has been so painful, but I think I can wait another week.

If I lived in the US, I would have already imported it by now. There are plenty of reputable importers so I wouldn't be able to wait.
The US never ever gets Sony phones early or even on time. It has been that way since the Sony Ericsson days. The US is just not an important market for Sony. I think it's because of heavy reliance on carriers who are too stuck in their ways, and also the US uses mobile technology that isn't very common elsewhere in the world.

Z2 is a bit more saturated, Z1 seems to have a bit more detail. View the photos and pan around, where you will notice the big difference. The Z1 suffers blurring as you near both edges of the photo, noticeable even when not zoomed in. Did not notice such problem with the Z2 stills.

I'll trade my Z1 immediately after Z2 arrives here.
Almost bought an blue S5 but it feels really cheap in my habds and it's screen looks a lil greenish for my taste. (and turns blueish on fluorescent environment)
It's a nice phone, indeed.
