@nodarsixar
G3 is not water proof,has smaller sensor and is in most parts thicker.
also using a taller device is easier than holding a wide one. at least that's my preference

Maybe, but the information is quite old and IF it's authentic, then it isn't the Z4's sensor. 2/3" is too large to fit in (most likely).

I think Z3X exists. This info is about it. It was seen on Antutu also. No reason for sony to abandon it. |

Sony abandoned some phones before even after showing up in Antutu, so if they see the Z3X is not plausible ( for any reason ) then they will not release it...

@xperiazultra Antutu can easily be faked so the posting may not even be genuine but how about this for a stab in the dark, Sony put up a fake Antutu posting show possible specs of a future device and then wait to see what reaction is given by the publics response. If mainly positive then Sony go ahead and build such a thing and if negative response the scrap the idea with little ot no R&D and manufacturing cost, as I said it's a shot in the dark but certainly possible.
I'm so happy 'cause today I've found my friends ... They're in my head

I guess the reaction to such a device is positive right now. |

A positive reaction does not always mean a successful device. You might think that this phones is amazing, some other will also think the same, but if you ask them will you guys buy it ? they will say no.. it's still but it's not my type... the same went for the first Ultra, it has positive reviews duo to spec. and performance but it was not a hit duo to it's size, and seeing any classifieds website you will see a lot of it's owners want to sell it... it's size was the main reason. it was just way over sized... it might have a market, but not that huge for Sony to maintain.

Well make it 6 inches then problem solved. Using the same internals won't bring so much difficulties for Sony. There is this trend towards phablets. With the first gen Z Ultra there was almost zero marketing. No led flash, bad speakers, lack of cases, bad camera, screen going blank issue for god's sake. It had many drawbacks aside from its size. So blaming the size is kind of irrelevant. Premium phablet market is there, dominated by Sammy. With people losing interest to Samsung products, Sony may pretty well grab a decent share. Sorry for my English by the way. |

Being a new market by it self is hard for the struggling Sony, and going down to 6" will make it very close to the Z4's 5.5" which is already a phablet by it self...
I believe if Sony cancelled or postponed next Ultra then it's because of it's recent change in marketing by going for fewer devices to maintain and worry about.
but that's if, Sony might actually still planning this device but the recent changes made them reschedule some planned devices and cancel others... but seeing some leaks pointing to the non-existence of Z3X, not to mention the strange naming which seems to be old now as we're closing forward to Z4 launch after 3-4 months...
