djin - compare to someone's Z1 to find out. but if you are that unhappy, go back to the store and exchange.
I can't figure out how to set vibration for email. |

Interesting to see if Z1 also has this IDIOTIC limitation of 25 emails on the device.
I could compare today Z and Z1 and Z has a bit more yellowish screen...

just an FYI to americans (or any one really) ordering from handtec, my smartwatch 2 was shipped last week and is arriving tomorrow according to tracking. Seems there are no customs issues this time, which is great. Can't wait to play with it tomorrow!

Anxiously waiting for my white Z1 Tuesday. This will be the most powerful device I will have owned. I do like Sony and love it's Android skin a lot. Was just waiting for them to improve with a better device than the original Z which they have. This yellow screen issue only ever happened to me on the Xperia P but I seen it happen to Samsung and others too not just Sony.

Shoutout here from the Philippines!
Last friday, October 18th, Xperia Z1 was unveiled here and was priced by the Sony Mobile PH facebook page around P 35,000 ($812) for cash/straight payment and a SRP of P 37,000 ($858). But I went to Xperia Store at Ayala Center Makati last saturday and seen that they are offering the handset at an SRP of around P 39,500 ($903).
Comparing it to releases, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has an opening salvo here at an SRP of P 37,000 ($858) and the future release of HTC One Max at an SRP of P 38,000 ($881). I thought the Z1 would get not that too much the price of Xperia Z when released here at P 35,000 ($812), but it's way too much here.
Having much said, the price by Sony was inconsistent! Wth. According to the sales rep, the package includes the handset, charger, headset like in Xperia Z which is a high-quality MH-750 as well as USB cable.
And in fact, the Z1 unit sits beside the Z Ultra, and I immediately notice how gorgeous the Z Ultra has its screen. The black is blacker compared to Z1 and for the Z1, it is just like how the colour shifts from my Xperia Arc when viewed slight off an angle.
The thing is, its camera impressed me so much. How fast and clear the 8 MP Superior Auto with By-pixel super resolution performs. I just can't have it by now, unless it drops down to P 35,000 so that I can afford it. Overall, it is a superpacked phone. I really love it. It's just not deserving to be priced that way, that it almost reaches the price of a 16GB iPhone 5S space gray in grey markets here. |

@moogoo
yeah, if you have a top smartphone you use it's functions.
and email is one of them. it's basics people use more email on phone than on pc...
i can't understand why IMAP allows to have only 25 mails on phone.
this is totally idiotic and unprofessional. why am I forced to pay for 3rd party app to
use it.
and what makes me crazy is that in the past there was no problem, I could have all the inbox
even on X10 mini.

@rency0722
you can always buy from kimstore , those prices you mentioned are ridiculously high Blame our retail stores for that, not Sony.

Z1 only costs PHP 27,800 if you buy from kimstore, (PHP 10k cheaper, which is huge, and even if you buy all accessories for it that kimstore has, such as the dock, screen pro, flip cover and headset it'll still be 5k or more cheaper than what you mentioned) trusted seller here in Ph
BTW it was already available at kimstore more than a month ago, and some of our fellow kabayan already bought it.
other phones and gadgets are available there as well, my brother is thinking of buying ZU at kimstore this December.

So what's about the update? Did it really add a new image processing algorithm? Or does the noise on the Z1 look different or better?
I'd be glad for any sample images.
I know this questions has been mentioned already in the past 20 pages, but I want to push it cause there wasn't a clear answer.
By the way I'm very close to buy the Z1, I just want that waterproof and awesome camera. My S4 is not enough
(I'm just waitung for the IPS panel batch ^_^ )

i don't think anybody here who has the update has posted any pics yet..
but from what was released, it's not a new image processing algorithm, but just changes to the current algorithm (i.e., not a complete replacement). the pics i've seen posted on the sony mobile blogs have been very nice (no i don't have the link on hand).
hopefully i'll get the update soon! then i can take some photos to compare. I'll even use a tripod so camera shake is not an issue.
and yes i know i can manually update with flashtool but i am choosing to wait for OTA or PC Companion.

Wait, there will be a IPS batch?
Are you sure you are not talking about Z1f or Z2?
If so, what is the source and does it come with an estimate of when it will be available?
Finally, any way to know what your screen is when buying, at the store, so without root or bootloader unlock?

@bonovox - yea that. there are still some white processing artifacts but that's one hell of an impressive pic for ISO 1000.
