yeah, on xda there are more users, or at least ACTIVE ZU users, tho there's a CLUSTERf**k or tutorials for rooting and stuff that I'm too lazy to follow.

what matters is I'm really happy with my ZU ^_^

Really want Z Ultra size with 'any pen' input but I'm not going to buy until later in the year and they may not keep those two key (to me) features in the Z2 Ultra.

Leaves me with a decision:

  1. Buy now and take the hit that I've used my Xperia Z for less than a year
  2. Wait and buy the current version but in Q4 - it'll be cheaper by then, but 'old' hardware (seriously not cool)
  3. Wait and buy the new version regardless of whether it is missing these features

Do you need a phone now? Buy! Otherwise wait till you need one.

For my next upgrade (which is still a couple months off) I'm looking to try something different. Thinking of maybe trying the 2nd gen Sony Z Ultra. Any ideas when this beast will be rearing it's beautiful head?

Yes, I would like to hear from users with the 4.4 update too. Any bugs? Has the camera been improved?

Is anyone using the SBH52 handset with this phone and if so, how often are you using it to take calls?

On sgbest.com Z Ultra is under £300 - cheaper than the new T2 Ultra!

That's worth it just as a second phone or small tablet.

Twitching fingers. Should I cancel my Z2 Tab pre-order and just get Z Ultra instead? Maybe get both?

So glad I just got awarded a project worth a couple grand (for just a couple weeks work) means I can treat myself.

I too am trying to decide whether to go for the Z Ultra or a Tablet Z2 WiFi. The Z Ultra is at a great price. That's the first time I've seen it below £300 but I'm wondering about the import taxes to the UK.

This site has just dropped its price too http://www.eglobaldigitalstor[....]33-unlocked-mobile-phones.html

If I were you Ricky, I would wait and see what the next Z Ultra's successor will bring something to the table before make any decision.

Personally, I tend to upgrade new device for every two years, and Nozomi (XS) will be there in August before begin of IFA in Berlin. Which would allow me to get some bargain Z2 or it successor later this year.

if I was you Ricky....i'd get the wi-fi Z Ultra if it was available

i don't really know what new or overwhelming things the Z2 Ultra could bring to the table, that is, if there WILL be a successor at all O_O

Sony stores in Australia are clearing stock at $399aud. Or £220!

If I was in the country I'd probably pick one up at that price.

Holy Schmitzels! Still £450 on the UK Sony Store wesbite.

They're dropping the price a lot and quickly, which can mean one of two things:

  1. They're about to announce Z2 Ultra, ahead of the expected late Q3 schedule
  2. Sales were so bad that they're worried they won't get rid of the stock at all

Either way, this is a bargain and if I can get similar prices in China I'll go out tomorrow and buy.
