Well, most people here in the US have no idea that a 41Mpix sensor even exist for mobile phones, so this is going to be a major marketing boost for Microsoft and Nokia. We all know that its not about the number of mpix with the 808 and more about on how they are used, but it wouldn't matter.. the public will still read that 41Mpix label and go .

"omg, this must be amazing"

Nokia really never properly played that card with the 808.. let's hope they do with the new one.

If Sony would take the beautiful RX-100 sensor onto the rumored Honami, than it would absolutely smash the 808 in terms of quality. The RX-100 can take some gorgeous shots even at ISO-3200.

That would be an absolute dream.

Still not as flexible as the HES9 in terms of zooming, oversampling, and of course performance vs. size is in favor of the 808 .. considering that its paired with that beautiful Carl Zeiss lens.

The sensor in the Honami will be slightly bigger than the one on the N8, paired with more modern jpeg algorithm and sensor tech in general, it should get close enough to the 808 in certain condition.

I thought Nokia would wait for the next GD2/GD3 updates from Microsoft which will make things even better. But Nokia is also doing their own improvements later this summer to all Lumia's with the Amber update which will bring better imaging!!

Just by looking at the lens I can tell that its a proper module this time.. let's hope the ND filter is in place, and its not visible here because its not activated

It will still be bigger than the 808 overall. The 920 is already bigger.. so adding the HES9 sensor to it won't help. It will also be heavier than the 808 for sure.

The 920 clocks at 99 cc volume
The 808 is at 95.5 cc volume

What that means is.. the 920 takes more room in your hand and in your pocket when compared to the 808.

I don't see how the EOS will be any smaller than the 920.

Official reveal at Microsoft Build in San Francisco later this month. Launch.. probably 2-3 months after that, and its very likely that this particular model will be AT&T exclusive for a while.

^ it will be.

Why does the hump have to be a different kind of plastic ? On the 808 and the N8 they are metal, and needed to be because they act as the FM transmitter antenna...

But.. in this case.. I don't see a point. It will blend in much better if it was unibody.
