The Xperia ZL is slated to get an IP57 certification, just like the Z. By the way, the earlier images of the Odin/ZL (a render and live photo) are either of a different phone or of an early prototype that didn't have the final design.

Does this mean Xperia ZL (Odin) is also water/dust proof?

what is the reason of Yuga then , if Odin will also be water resistance
so the water resistance thing now is out
till now the following ups for both
Odin
-IR blaster
-less tall
Yuga
-Thinner
-Less heavy
that's it
Kaz you ruined my new year with this new info |

If you had a choice, which one would you rather have? And please don't tell me this means Odin will have a better camera or more importantly like in the past T/TX example, a better screen... |

What's the point in releasing Odin two months later????At MWC the phablet would be announced so it would affect the sales of Odin.....strange marketing strategy
Btw i think Odin would be the US version of Yuga just like Xperia T and Xperia TL... |

Odin is supposed to release mid February in US. Do not know about the rest of the world. |

What kind of materials will Odin use? Same as Yuga or less 'premium' quality materials? |

Sony, I should imagine. So Yuga will be available in Feb, that's good.

Odin is the easy choice for me after what I am hearing. Really really good looking. The only worry now is the rumours about plastic back... |

Guys, there is no "Ericcson" or "Sony only" design. Head designers from SE stayed at Sony |

It might not be plastic. We will have to wait and see. Initially Odin was supposed to have glass back but the design got changed.
Just found out that Odin is supposed to have the same back design as TL. Metal.

What are the chances that the light at the bottom of Odin will be able to change colours like the Xperia U? That would be pretty damned sweet IMO.
While I really would enjoy the opportunity to own a waterproof phone, Odin is just too irresistable with that IR blaster.
I do wonder, could it be Sony left the IR blaster out of Yuga so that people would have a justifiable reason to go for Odin other than its smaller size? |
