There is nothing to cry Tapas
Yuga will have one of the best mobile displays in 2013. Whether it be the white magic panel or not. Doesn't matter.
Btw who here lives near Foxconn plant ? We need to steal around 100 Yugas for ourselves

If it has one of the best displays in 2013 then its great....now I'm smiling ........ but probably would have been much better with the inclusion of white-magic and the two other stuff .....
Heheheh maybe some one should go and disguise himself as a plant employer and bring back some goodies

So,RaMu,without Whitemagic will it be still beating the latest panels from apple or Amoled+ screens and will the screen be more features than Xperia TX or Xperia V.What new features can be expect? |

@randomuser: Are you back tracking now after you have said it will have WhiteMagic in the past?
It will be disappointing if it doesn't have WhiteMagic as it would be the differentiating feature to separate it from the barrage of 1080p 5" phones next year. If the Yuga starts production in a week or two then it is probably using the same JDI panel as the Droid DNA. So what will separate the Yuga/Odin from this Q4 2012 phone other than a different chassis size+design and a Sony logo on the front? What does it have over the Droid DNA/Butterfly J that justifies the 3-5 months difference? |

Well the white magic screen in Xperia P came as a complete surprise so I guess there is still hope. Hopefully Sony will have first dibs on the new screens |

Very True! In fact Sony had issued a press release few weeks before Xperia P announcement that only a 3 inch panel was going to be commercialized and that too at a later date than P announcement.
So it will not be a surprise if the Yuga and Odin use White Magic screen as well since White Magic = Sony tech before JDI.
Xperia V has White Magic as well and most of the high end Xperias for 2013 should have White Magic.

*crossing fingers*
The reason why I really want the WhiteMagic tech is I think the Yuga/Odin stands a good chance that it will be crowned the new "best smartphone screen" much like the One X last year. We'll see at CES...
I would be angry if some other company gets access to those panels first. I don't think Sony would be dumb enough to do that. |

Was it not rog who said it doesn't? I know unknown13x said it does, but that was ages ago. I though rog said it doesn't, but I may be wrong. |

V doesn't have it. The brightness isn't that awesome. BE2 only Hansen processing speed, that's all. |

Rog didn't say V doesn't have White Magic. He only said that his V doesn't have the same settings as P. And White Magic doesn't mean the screen HAS to be bright. P has super high brightness but also comparatively poorer black levels and also lower contrast. So it won't be a surprise if Sony has tinkered with the panel and reduced raw brightness.

Im very sure V doesnt have a white magic screen. If it had it, Sony would parade the screen around, which they didnt. |

As unknown13x mentioned, WhiteMagic didn't really "sell well to the customers". So White Magic + Mobile Bravia Engine = Mobile Bravia Engine 2
Hence why WhiteMagic is not used for advertising.

BE2 is widely known to only improve speed of image processing and can be ported to other Xperia phones easily. |
