US release date? I'm guessing sometime in October?

Honami is mine for sure. With the Z/ZL, it was never a sure thing. But the Honami is Honamine.

Honami + lens accessories will total more than $1K in US. wonder if the lens accessories have to pass FCC if it has active electronic components

These lens accessories are literally just like some of Sonys existing Cybershot cameras with a lot of the bulk removed. For example the larger one is identical to the RX100 II in a smaller package. So whatever process those cameras have to go through, I imagine these devices go through the same.

Yep late October for US. Should be 699 unlocked via sony. The 10x optical zoom lens should cost about 140 $ and the bigger one around 380$

Ho-lee frack. Those prices are downright amazing. How accurate are your sources on pricing?

BTW, are we expecting Honami in Canada at the same time as the USA? Before? After?

$699 and a free NFC speaker and you got yourself a sale, Sony! US unlocked phones will be LTE compatible right?

I might wait for it to arrive on the Amazon store. And of course, I will have to save for the PS4...

If they have a Honami/lens combo package, I might bite. If Ramus pricing of $380 is true then that's nearly 1/2 the cost of the original camera. I'll wait to see the performance of course. Plus the potential for APSC sized sensors next year is tempting.. might wait for that and just continue to use my RX100 in the meantime

Yes LTE model.

@Viv

Those are rough estimates, u might add +50$ to those prices
Could be much higher too. So these are the most optimistic prices

Rogers will probably sell honami starting November

So with those lens accessories if it is through NFC then it has to be mounted on the phone right? but if it is through wifi does this mean we can hold the lens freely at a certain distance even when taking a photo? That would be great for shimapan, I mean difficult angled shots

I think Sony will not price the Honami and the lenses too high, afaik they themselves already learned from their mistake with the initial PS3, pricing it too high, that is why PS4 now is reasonably priced, even the Vita is reasonably priced (compared to the original PSP when it was launched), also, well at least here in Philippines the Xperias are priced competitively. HTC, Samsung and Apple costs slightly more than an Xperia in retail stores here.

I guess not. There was nothing in the leaked software dump pointing at IR. Though the leaked honami protos did show an IR, the recent official pic of honami along with lens accessory shows no IR
