Thanks unknown

I hope the 20mp hide something under the hood, like 16:9 form factor sensor and pixel binning, a la HTC one, then too many mp count is really no issue for anyone.
Also hope for a fast lens.
More interested in low light pictures and allow for a fast shullter speed than in high dynamic range.

With that under the hood, i really don't mind no xenon.

I wish we have some leaks on the mystery device as well!

While it's true that larger pixels would allow better pixel sensitivity to light, we must also take note that Sony is the forefront of sensor technology innovation, and they have proven it many times before that even with an increase in pixel count, as long as there's a constant improvements on JPEG processing as well as sensor design improvements that amends signal to noise which they always manage to achieve, we shouldn't really worry about having 20MP on honami. besides 2/3" with 20mp would yield ~2 microns pixel size which is the similar(if not larger) to the enthusiast compacts like Canon G15 and Nokia N8. we should expect the newly developed sensor to handle high ISO pics better than the two. lowlight shots of Nikon DX caliber is a far fetch dream for any cameraphone (even 808) to achieve anyway.

Razec, not arguing that sensor tech does not matter, but for equivalent tech, or at a given iso, the ability to effectively get your pixels larger in reducing the mp count will always physically allow more light into each pixel.

You gain one stop every time you double the pixel surface.

Such flexibility is awsome on the paper, i never tried it.
i really hope Sony does it so i can try it, but i manage my expectations.

Not saying it is a show stopper, but if they do it, i am sure everyone here will say it is awsome

True there mate who knows, Sony might have developed some mind boggling technique to further improve lowlight performance than what's physically feasible on current sensor technology let's leave it to the engineers, they know what they're doing

BTW: after Z Ultra, Sony will be busy unveiling RX1r and RX100-mkII, I think whatever new imaging feature/s we'd see on these two products "may" also show up with honami's camera.

Razec, this is exactly what i was about to say!
There should be a new RX lineup introduced this year, and as the Honami goes out this year, i guess it will be the same generation technology: so let's hope there is a new sensor technology introduced with the new RX models!

Normally the announcement is tomorrow, so not much time to wait.
However, not seen any event/invite, just sony alpha rumor SR5.
Hope they will tease Xperia applications: Honami or the mystery device if camera centric!
