In my opinion 1080p/60fps is more important than 4K in phone.
well in marketing sense, 4K sounds alot more pleasing than 1080p/60. besides as I said on the previous post, Sony has plans to introduce 4K video recording across its entire imaging lineup.

What would be required from the sensor to record 4k? Does anyone know? Or is this possible through software? I know very little about developing for cameras...

You need 8mp in 16:9, so 20mp should be more than enough, even in 4:3.
I wish honami sensor is 16:9 and support pixel bining for photos

Update on the render based on randomuser and huiyi info + razec's sketch:
changes:
chamfered edges (diamond cut)
microSD slot
3.5 jack moved to top left (when facing front of the phone)
camera to the right side (when facing front of the phone)
speaker grill
charging port (not sure if this is on side or bottom? I do remember there was charging port mentioned few pages back)
Unknown megapixel camera
Sony Lens G
Single Flash (LED or Xenon not determined yet)
Hole for lanyard
made the chrome ring around the camera thinner
and the reflections on the phone 
I want to know more about another info on what maiaramdan told us, I agree with Ricky D we might actually have 2 phones being described few pages back.

That looked even better  but can you try rendering it with black background? since it gives the render a much more premium atmosphere

Looks much better. I think the thickness is too big. It's only 8-9 mm thick. |

Also, thank you for keeping the Maiaramdan possibility in mind, I would love to see a 3d render of Litoni's work.
I can't wait for this cypershot/NEX/Alpha or whatever name camera event on the 27th.
It would be fun that Sony makes the headlines on the 25th with Togari, then people rush to sony stand in shanghai on 26.
Then they make the headlines again on the 27th with the mystery phone, and people rush again to their stand on day two of mobile asia expo

You cut this border is still too small. . To the big points. . Charging contacts are circular dots, not L36 as! ! Look at this chart. Borders like this! ! Camera which is not square but round! Score 30-40 likeness you this picture and the real "ONE SONY"
