From what I have red lately it looks like it will be a Japan only phone. It will have the same size screen as the ION with a totally different design. Some rumors state that it will use the same processor as the ION and the XS.

Is this the shell from the Sony Xperia U (ST25i)

It looks like it will not have a removable battery and the back cover is not removable as well. The Xperia S should have been like this.

sadly.. i am even more interested than ever with what sony has to offer in the coming months. what will hayabusa be? what will mint be? i dropped my beautiful white x10 in a sink full of water. it's now currently residing in a bag of rice to hopefully dry out in the next 2 days and HOPEFULLY come back to life. just have to wait and see. For the time being i'm using my old trusty z710 flip.

Great idea, Vita has been such a huge success, or not

Yeah, going with proprietary Sony-only solutions has been such a "success" in the past. Will they ever learn ? They should leverage the great technologies and content they have, but box themselves into proprietary formats & platforms.

i think you need to take a second look at this idea
the market is flooded with android handsets, phones hardly look different
the iphone is successful because of its closed architecture
sony could very well be successful with their own OS - they have the content to build their own ecosystem
the only thing that bugs me, is that sony has no clue of software - there have been wonderful examples in the past
and the vita os hardly looks promising
