is it me or does ICS seem a little laggy/stutter on the XS? could be the video. I think i'm noticing the guy's hand having stutter movements as well...
You're not alone, I saw it too. but it could be that the video file had some issues after being uploaded, or the camera's exposure troubles, or bugs still to be ironed out, I just can't see ICS stuttering on a HW that's perfect enough to run it without issues.

It looks like video problem. The only laggy moment was, when widget panel appeared not instantly |

For those of you who thought the rumor about a Sony 5 inch 1080p device were absurd, check this out.

It IS absurd. You won't see the difference between 720p and 1080p on 5" screen. But the battery will.
Advantages:
-You can brag about having a phone with 1080p
-?
Disadvantages:
-Battery life will suffer
-More processing power needed
-More expensive
So clearly, it is absurd |

I actually had this thing in my mind after seeing the new 440ppi LG display at GSMArena moreover if Android will be using such resolution for Jellybean imagine thrashing your laptop for gaming with this

on the contrary, LG claim their new display is "Compared to standard IPS panels, AH-IPS panels have greater color accuracy, wider viewing angles and greater light transmission which leads to lower power consumption."
so...

I hope they move forward the GXi announcement date just to slap samsung in the face before the sgs3 release. Seems unlikely though, it's Sony we are talking about...

While advancements in tech on smartphones are impressive as ever, It keeps me wondering why we still don't have waterproof or shockproof capability listed as standard phone feature for all phones sold. most if not all Japanese phones are waterproof, some are even shockproof able to withstand being smashed badly and yet we only have a handful of the likes of Xperia Active for the rest of the world. what use is a hexacore or octocore smartphone and that super beautiful 4K ultra AMOLED screen if they will just be rendered useless right after being submerged in water? or if the they break after being run by a light vehicle? most people are willing to spend a fortune buying the best specs, so there is no excuse for these two features to be not included. this is what I thought when I saw Eluga power from panasonic, and I think Xperia GX and all high end (at least) models should have this as well.

I wonder if Sony even understands how valuable GX is. It can, and will, take a huge portion of the high-end market if released in time. |

Actually nokia is considering to make all their future lumia and pure view handsets as water proof, which is a step in the right direction! Even i think that phones should be water proofed, especially these newer ones with inbuilt battery, there would be no way to disconnect the battery incase it does fall inside the water...
Also it seems Lg's LE970 phone will have adreno 320! I think gxi with this would be pretty possible then

I think Adreno 320 is just there for bragging rights, same thing for Mali400Mp4 on GSIII if no apps or games that are and will be available throughout its life span that can ever make use of it's floating point computing muscle, it's just a waste of battery. tech geeks will love it, but is it practical? i still think even the "outdated" S3 chip in Xperia S can run all android HD games without breaking sweat. We need more features that are really useful for us, and as I said previously, I'd prefer a "sluggish and outdated" panasonic ELUGA POWER smartphone over that LG uber smartphone anytime if it could survive a top gear class abuse.
EDIT: well this is innovation done right - again from Japan, sigh wish we could also have one
