Android's will fight each other in the Matrix. Anyway, well it seems Steve Jobs is now worth more since his death with the huge sales so far. But I think Apple will not be the same now. Oh what a shame

He may be dead, but he has lots of followers, especially his successor CEO and i think the apple company as a whole will pursue Google as long as they can fund their lawyers, I respect Mr. Jobs for his creative thinking but i loathed him for his actions, and i think I'm not the only one who thinks that way. even if his belief proves technically right, there will be people who will always think that his logic is flawed.

I absolutely knew there would be over-reaction when I posted this, because its Apple and people can't handle the success of this company as apparantly we're all drones under some kind of mind control without the ability to choose and pick for ourselves. (if that really is the case then I've been a Psion drone, a Palm drone, a Nokia drone, a Windows mobile drone a.... etc etc)

All companies surely set out to destroy the competition although few have such recognised CEO's who openly make such statements.

but I'm glad you proved my point about Apple and Jobs

who said the iphone has no competition

of course it does and presumably thats why Apple/Job was out to beat the competition. I'm sure if you asked Peter Chou (yeah, who? - the head of HTC) or Choi Gee-Sung (again, who? - head of Samsung) they are also out to destroy their competition otherwise what are they doing as CEO?

I'm sure you did masseur

There is a difference between taking out the competition in the tech arena rather than going all legalistic on them.

erm, I don't ever remember saying that any device didn't have any competition?

I think in the business world that all tactics apply at all times... even if those tactics don't come to fruition but do provide an impact/delay etc to the competition...

Reading stuff like this would lead me to believe that Jobs was not the only one to make such bold statements.

lol, well perhaps not that bold as no one really takes Ballmer that seriously, which is why I purposely didn't quote him in my subsequent post

I only admit to being an drone

It sounds like he was accusing Eric Schmidt of using Apple trade secrets to create Android. Would be interesting to see the evidence...

Both Eric Schmidt and Andy Rubin are ex-Apple employees so you can imagine Steve's fury, especialy seeing how Android tackles all of iOS's downfalls e.g.
-iOS is available on one phone released once a year.
-Android is available on mutiple devices released all year round at a variety of price points.

-iOS isnt that customizable
-Android is highly customizabl

-iOS close
-Android open

etc...

Customizing an Android phone is also tiring and somewhat stressful.
What Launcher to use...what Rom to flash...what kernel to use...the best radio...always on the look for a new version of rom. You've been spending a lot more time customizing it rather than actually using it as a phone
