Apparently OmniVision shares dropped when it was revealed that the 4S uses a SONY sensor and not theirs like previously.

I have heard that Siri won't work outside the us until 2012. Is that true? |

As I have said before, Siri is in iOS5 but only in the firmware for the 4S.
It works fine for me on 4S though a few searches have given me a message that they are only available in US.

Siri is only for the 4S, Core functions, calls, sms, email, calendar and searches will work... service based functions like reservations, and bookings are only in the US at the moment. Until 2012, where SOME countries may start getting limited service functionality.
On Android, I like using Vlingo. Voice Command works well too, but it isn't as fast as VLingo.

I'd say 95% of my tests have worked so far. These have been mostly based on review examples and my own dreamt up examples of things that I am likely to do from day to day, so I can't really see any major limitation that is suggested by these 2012 limitations?
its ok to post quotes from other sites but actual experience is always preferable and more real
its nearly a decade since I used microsoft voice command on early windows mobile device and that was very good even then, but this is a whole world better as you might expect in a decade

Interesting discovery about the camera sensor..
Will be looking forward for the iPhone humiliating the Xperia series camera-wise.. Hope SE start learning some "quality" lessons which woud force them to apply back some of the quality they were about in the past!
As far as I know the sensor should be the same. Sony did produce only two models of these mobile ExmorR sensors.. Or?
So the major difference will be all to the optics used, which should lead to vast difference in the end results.. |

@masseur
Any chance of a mini-review?
I am particularly interested in the signal reception and call quality areas.
On signal reception, I would love to know your experiences in poor coverage areas rather than in good coverage ones.
How crisp and clear is the call quality and is is loud enough to be no problem in malls or the streets?
Thanks in advance!

Masseur, I think the limitations are the restaurant and booking reservations that Siri can do in the US. Either business deals have been struck with online reservation systems, or the infrastructure already exists.

Siri has been ported to work on the iPhone 4 according to 9to5Mac (http://9to5mac.com/2011/10/14/siri-voice-command-system-ported-from-iphone-4s-to-iphone-4-video/). Check out link with a video link as well.

New iPhone 4S owners are starting to fill forums and Twitter feeds with complaints about their handsets' battery life. Although some are suggesting that iOS 5 has also had a negative effect on power usage on other iDevices, it is the new Apple phone that is attracting the most frustration.
Apple's own forums are seeing the most amount of messages from concerned customers, with one user, Scarface, posting, "My iPhone 4S battery seems terrible! Almost equivalent to my 3GS and its terrible battery life,

agreed. I am noticing about 10% drop in battery performance for usage similar to my iphone 4 running iOS 5.

That's not very good then is it one would expect battery performance to increase with a new model not decrease. |

still doesn't worry me as I'm getting more than a full day and I sync/charge the iphone when I get home anyway.
With the first couple of iOS 5 betas the battery was pretty bad but they've gradually increased it over the whole beta period and I would expect they'll tweak it a bit more yet
