Should that ne spelt as clever not cleaver. I only know how to debrand or update not root. I would never try. It's nice though that HTC are one of the very few that supports FOTA updates.

@Bono
It seems like Toney already got the Official UK upgrade from HTC, so you should have it too.
HTC seems to have some kind of schedule where some is bound to get it first and others getting it last.

Click that button where you have all those app icons, there is one icon for Settings.
In settings, scroll down to the one saying something like "about the phone" click that icon.
The new screen there is (on my DHD) a menu text (again something like) Firmware upgrade.
In Firmware upgrade you need to have the scheduled search for upgrade ticked in order to get informed when the 100+MB 2.3.3 upgrade is available for you.

Or you can just press the Search Now button.

Sorry my DHD is in all swedish so the english menu names are my guesswork

As you already having had experience with Android (the SE Arc) I think you will wring it out by yourself anyhow

This Tuesday morning I found there was an update sign on my HTC Desire HD.
It was the Android 2.3.5(?.x?) and Sense 3(.x?) upgrade that had come to the DHD.

Let the phone update Over-The-Air whilst I brewed coffee and made some sandwiches at 06:00, the upgrade took less 15 mins, and only twice did I had to mind it by accepting download and install.

Sense have a new look (the lock sceen)

At the Last update (Android 2.3.4) some people didn't believe me when I said the udate had arrived
so I post his screen capture, as a proof

Improved performance: The phone have been much snappier and all round faster. Hopes it don't get slower by time like MS Windows.

Battery time: I had charged the battery over night and did this big file download and installing, used the phone normally during the day: Surfing, a couple of phone calls, 5 sms sent/received, still had lot of juice left in the battery.

Still the battery will not last a workday, if playing streamed music from the internet (Spotify) with A2DP-bluetooth transfer. though I haven't tested it yet.

Darn! It's 1:30 and I have to get up at 5:30, damn these sleepless nights...

Sorry, sorry
Of course DHD didn't get the 2.3.4.x.
The previous one was the 2.3.3, that came after the original 2.2.x.

Think the new (2011) SE Andoids that have 2.3.4 from factory.
