Yes, I've been doing a spot of reading on this subject to understand. So, would average metering produce better results in general, rather than centre metering?

I'm using the standard camera app with Android 2.1. My phone has the Arc Launcher on it, but that wouldn't make any difference to the camera. My photos are always taken on auto mode using touch capture.

Stick to the stock camera app, and try this:

- lower EV to -1 or less, especially in low light scenes
- touch capture instead of hardware button
- turn off image stabilizer

but whenever you click a good image with your phone cam it gives you a good feel and satisfaction...
