If Vodafone don't enter the arena with better deals then this might as well be some sort of cartel.

It seems to have been such a cash-cow for O2 that the other operators want an equal slice of the pie, because right now, having more than one operator to choose from doesn't seem to be working in the consumer's favour. Not how a market should work really is it?

sure many are like me though... registered to see what the deal is, now seen it and think... YOUR HAVING A LAUGH!!!

Plus with just having one operator to choose from previously there must be loads gagging to move over to a different one.

But also at the end of the day people want an iphone on a network of their choice. Variety is the spice of life If i could choose it would not be O2 because i think their network is crap.

I got this months Orange brochure today its all over it the iphone. Pay as you go tariffs for data is only 250mb but you get £10 off the iphone if you top up £50. As i am on Orange because i prefer them as a network i am quite tempted someday getting one on pay as you go. Going to save up my phone fund for a while i get £1 back off a new phone for every £10 top up. Soon builds up. I never used to like the iphone but i am changing

Not sure if it is locked, I only have a orange sim card! Will try an old o2 one in the phone tonight. In terms of data speeds, much quicker than my iphone 3G, the £GS is much quicker. Before it used to show a blue dot as the data indicator, now it is full 3G, and it has not dropped 3g since I have had it, but I do work and live in central London so Im not sure if that is a true UK representation.

I've dropped a tmob sim in my 3gs now and its noticeably faster than the data speeds I was getting on O2

I wonder if O2 are unlocking their iPhones because they want people to use them on other networks and take the strain off theirs? As long as customers are still paying them for "unlimited internet" until the end of their contract, they're laughing, right?
